We need a war of words from the dads. Bill Walton needs to tee off on Lavar for throwing his kid under the bus. Personally I think Luke's uptempo game is pretty much as good as it will get for Lonzo. The problem is Lonzo is not a good fit with LBJ.

Colin Cowherd on the radio right now, claim his "sauces" say that Dell Demps is facing intense pressure from other executives around the league not to take a Lakers deal before the deadline. Colin is claiming this is because of a league-wide "anti-Lakers bias", but I suspect that if there's any validity to his statement, it's more execs not wanting a player to be able to dictate terms to his team.

Either way, this claim smacks of collusion, and could be problematic if true.

This has become a common narrative on Lakers' boards as well. And it's bullshit.

Demps shouldn't take the Laker deal because the return is garbage and he can do far better in the summer.

I disagree. He's put too much "public" pressure on them sure. However, in my opinion, part of parenting is pressing the right buttons to challenge your children to get the best out of them. Sure his oldest might be an NBA Bust but he's going to make generational money in the Process, his other kids may not make it in the NBA but they'll be taken care of financially, which is why almost everyone goes to school, and works. As long as he loves them even if their best isn't good enough for the NBA, loves them when they fail then that's good parenting to me.

To expect sanity and reason from Papa Ball may itself be the definition of insanity. :breakdance:

Colin Cowherd's sources are the Lakers and he is doing their dirty work.

I haven't been able to listen to Colin for a while now, he is just an LA pawn at this point, and his takes pretty much suck... I stopped listening about a year ago cause it was just more than I was willing to subjugate myself too.

Lakers' three number 2 picks over the last few years:

2015: Russell over Porzingis (used to dump a horrible Mozgov contract).
    2016: Ingram over Jaylen Brown
2017: Lonzo over Tatum, Fox, Mitchell, Collins, etc etc,

They fucked up. This isn't collusion.

That would be epic. Bill would philosophize him to death and LaVar would just keep getting louder and louder and making less and less sense.

Not that I'm defending the Lakers, but that's not really fair. All of those drafts lacked clarity up top. No one knew who Porzingis was and Knicks fans were irate at the over-reach. Brown was a pretty mediocre prospect, and as much as I love him, you have to worry about him being a "system" guy like Turner turned out to be for us. I doubt anyone regarded him more highly than Ingram. I didn't like Lonzo or Fultz as top picks last year, but most of those guys didn't look clearly better at the time. Enough people were high on Tatum, that's the only reasonable example.

as many here have already pointed out, this really looks a lot like Cowherd pumping out Laker spin. The whining from LA is loud and pathetic

there is some collusion going on and that's between the talking heads of the media trying to pump up the value of those young Laker players and other Laker assets. Every one of those supposed great young players LA is offering is flawed, incomplete, and inconsistent

Still, it's beside the point. Boston's potential package of Tatum/Brown/lottery picks from Sac/Mem is far better than anything LA can put together. To suggest that teams are colluding to denigrate the value of LA's package is bogus.

A package consisting solely of CJ/Collins is better than any package LA has put forth.
