CJ + Zach + a pair of 1sts likely has good generic value, but If the Pels want to maximize cap-space while collecting young assets, Portland's offer is a little short on what N.O. wants. I also wonder how highly the Pels would value CJ. The way they structured their defense in the playoffs last season and the first 2 games this season sure seems to indicate that don't think CJ has a big impact on games. They sold out to stop Dame; they didn't sell out to stop CJ

because even in a trade for AD Olshey is holding CJ untouchable?

 

I am not sure i agree that CJ and Collins is better then any offer the Lakers have done let's exclude draft picks for a minute. CJ is better then all the players but factor in all the other pieces there is still good promise to Kuzma , Ingram and Ball compared to just Collins. I am as die hard as anyone but let's not let our fandom blind us to the Lakers offer that is good. The problem for the Lakers is not there offer it's the fact that the Pelicans do not want to be pushed into a corner by AD saying trade me to LA or i will opt out on any other team that might trade for me and they would be left with nothing. The Pelicans are in a bad spot cause if they give into AD even with getting a good package then other players will see this and do it even more is why other teams are pressuring them not to cave into AD's demands. This is when Adam Silver needs to say something or when the next collective bargaining deal comes up they need to address this cause this type of thing since i think hurts the NBA more then it helps it.

 

We could add Aminu's expiring and take back Hill. I think that is the only way to get them to listen.

if that's true, the only way to get their attention might be Nurk + Aminu + Zach + Simons + 1st

 

Their traps were pretty creative, but they were designed to stop whichever guard had the ball. Dame just usually runs the offense. Either way they did a good job at it and I am sure we will face it again in the playoffs when team have time to prepare. Although not every team has a Rondo.

 

They could just let CJ go crazy the rest of the year to build up his value and then trade him too.

 

It's tough to make moves when you are on the phone with the valet making sure he has directions to Mrs. HCP's house.

One issue, Lakers offering up 6 players for 1, N.O. is already at 15 players, I believe. So they have to waive 5 players BEFORE they can even execute such a deal.

 

Ya this was brought up yesterday here and it often gets ignored. NO needed to get rid of a ton of players to make this happen

Translation: They don't have anything new to offer and the ball is in NOLA's court. Just another negotiating tactic, they aren't done, they are just trying to look less needy.

 

The Pels will not trade Davis to LA, they have no all star or potential or even a notch below at this point. And Kusma 0r Ingram are not there yet. Boston will provide much more plus they send him to the eastern conference. Davis would immediately be competing for Eastern Conference championship with Bean Town next year. Wouldn't happen with LA. Just my opinion, again I could be way off wrong?
