But Dame wasn't? Nurk is our second best player. He, like every player, will have off games, it's the coaches job to play through that the same way we do CJ and Dame. He didn't get much of an opportunity after a poor start. He could have turned it around as he has plenty before.

 

Turner played almost 30 minutes while Aminu only played 17. Oh yeah forgot, Aminu can’t play small forward because..I don’t know...he just can’t.

 

Maybe Nurk is part of a trade hahaha I’m thinking too much.

cant be playing ET in that lineup and Nurk looked useless in the p&r when he did get the ball. We need a guy like Saric so bad.

 

Yeah, Stotts doesn't know what to do with all of this trapping or at least it doesn't look like he knows the solution.

 

It has to do with them not really deserving any more minutes. Aminu and Hark were not stopping anyone when they were in. Why did they deserve more minutes? I would have gone back to Collins because of his D, but the way Miami was trapping I can see why Terry felt Jake and ET deserved more minutes than Aminu and Hark.

 

He's seen it for YEARS and still has no counter. The one and only time he had a counter was the POs against LAC (?) where he had Plumlee come out to the top of the key to take the pass from a doubled Dame. Worked for about 4 games, then we got bounced in the next round, and the next season the league had already seen that play and took it away.

 

Jake can get minutes at the 3 and 4. It will be Zach or Meyers who will sit depending on the matchups.

Yea depends if they need offense or defense because Leonard is ahead on offense and more the D side.

 

It should be Aminu, Turner, and Curry who see their minutes reduced. Unfortunately it'll be Zach.

 

Yes, because usually Moe and Aminu aren't bad defenders so you'd expect to pick it up compared to someone who's never a good defender.

ET didn't deserve anything. He played terrible and got absolutely cooked by Wade. You think Wade goes off like that if Aminu was on him?

And Terry has no answer to trapping defenses. There's ways we could structure an offense to take advantage of the trap but we don't, which is why we always struggle against it.

 

Not Aminu. I'd say Harkless, Turner, and a little bit of Meyers and Curry.

Better yet, Neil makes a consolidation trade.

 

Hood...Saric...Mirotic...Prince...to me, guys like that don't really matter much. Portland needs an infusion of high end talent; that's where an upgrade will move the needle. Replacing Harkless with Hood, or Zach with Saric, or Aminu with Mirotic, those exchanges might be worth a win or two more, but they just aren't going to change the trajectory of this team enough to matter...IMO
