It's different is the way I'd describe it. There is some validity to it too. My boss from Colorado is used to ice/snow lives at about 1000 feet and makes it into work no matter what weather there is but he's used to driving in it. My wife who hasn't lived anywhere but Portland / Hillsboro it snows outside or it's icy and she just can't do it...

Ooh, I'm so scared. OMG, I've driven with a two wheel drive car in 8 inches of snow. This looks more like a heavy dusting to me.

Just want to say, I hope with whatever weather events we get all of you have a safe week/weekend. If anyone's in desperate need of help in the Portland area just let me know and I do have a truck w/ 4wd that I am willing to try to help people out if I can.

That sounds about right. Somewhere around 1979 we had an ice storm so bad that a lot of limbs came off our very big Douglas Fir. The whole front yard must have been 2 1/2 feet deep in boughs. I had two friends come over and cut up firewood all day and then left me plenty for my fireplace. I then ran a burn barrel continuously for several days.
One hell of an ice storm.

If I need help it would be at 6 am and I doubt if you'd be up then. Yeah, that's the time I go to the hospital.

I am up by 4:45am most days. That's about the time my oldest usually wakes up. Unfortunately, I don't know how easy it would be for you to get in and out of our truck it's pretty high off the ground, but I'd certainly try if you needed help.

Best thing to do in this type of weather is to have a big dinner and then lie down and let your body temperature drop. Once spring comes, you will thaw out and can go back to your normal life. You'll be hungry when you wake up, so have something readily available.

I was going to post that one hit wonder from Canada, cod-raggae "rapper" Snow. But then I realized that retro clip had no kitchy value what-so-ever. But the upstairs neighbor is playing Chicago's Greatest Hits so if I have to suffer.... so do you!

It's all overblown. 2" if we're lucky. Ticks me off that my kids' activities have been cancelled this weekend.
