An awful lot of those articles appear to be about local sheriffs refusing to enforce the law. Not exactly a constitutional victory. barfo
As the only Constitutionally legitimate LEOS in America, their refusal to enforce an UnConstitutional law reaffirms the line in the sand still holds.
That, my friend, depends upon the sheriff being an honest professional and trustworthy individual even after the vote is in. More than a couple of them have been known to have been bought off over the years and they also supported the 2nd amendment more than likely. Elected officials have lied to appease the voting public over and over and over....sheriffs are not always boy scouts.
If it has anything to do with regulating, tracking, taxing, shaming, restricting, harassing, confiscating arms or owners of arms or prospective owners of arms, it is UnConstitutional per the clear prohibition of infringement in the Second Amendment. No court review is needed for such an obvious fact of law, and no local or state gun control law has ever withstood a ruling of SCOTUS.
Seems like you are trying to be a bit too clever here. SCOTUS has ruled that in the abstract, state/local gun control is permissible (US v. Cruikshank, 1875), and there have been numerous gun control measures upheld by appeals courts that SCOTUS has let stand rather than review. barfo
Fun fact: After climbing over The Wall, maris and marzy believe it's perfectly fine for illegals to immediately go to a Walmart and buy a gun. Fun fact #2: They also believe it's perfectly fine for felons to buy guns.
Felons should be allowed to vote and they should be allowed to buy guns and they should be allowed in drug free zones. They shouldn't be allowed to break the law again just like the rest of us aren't.
Time served means hit the reset, start over and learn from the past. It doesn't mean be permanently punished even though time has been served.
How are they going to enforce that with no law on the issue other than, if you're old enough to peer over the counter, you're old enough to buy a gun. Didn't the French have a similar law regarding alcohol before they got inundated by alcoholics?
