I know, I love that he's telling you to get a life/job and not focus on the Blazers when that literally is your job.

Anyway, on the Blazers side of the forum I don't see why a poster is allowed to change the conversation from the Blazers to trying to demean your life.

I don't recall saying it had anything to do with the Blazers. Probably had as much to do with the Blazers as his "get outta your feelings" response to me, whatever that might mean. :dunno:

Since you seem to have lost track. I disagreed with your point in regards to Stotts deserving props over keeping Hood in. Then you got worked up over the disagreement a d negatively mischaracterized my mindset "You think you're an expert". Because of that, I told you to not get worked up. Then you personally insulted me, and have been attacking me ever since.

Dont try to play the victim card or come up with excuses.

Yeah it's ridiculous man. Let's go down the checklist:
    - He mischaracterized my mindset in a defamatory way.
    - Personally insulted me (apparently I'm a mooch?)
    - He insulted my day-to-day existance

...all over an opinion on what we should and shouldnt give Stotts props for. :biglaugh:

Huh? I'm not worked up about anything, lol. You simply think you know it all and no one knows as much as you. That simply isn't true. I coached youth sports all year round for several years. I gave back to the sports I grew up and love. Why don't you take some of your obvious immense amount of free time and do some good and do some youth coaching rather that spending 24/7 arguing with people.

are you going to continually post about me? or are you going to try and move on and discuss the Blazers (and not whether Stotts ties his tie or not)? :blahblah:

That's entirely false, and you are, once again, mischaracterizing me and putting fake thoughts into my brain to try to demean me over an opinion.

I find funny how you're talking about what to do with free time when you just launched a ridiculous barrage of insulting behavior towards me over an opinion. Also find it funny how your blaming me for this current argument.

    Stop digging.

It doesn't really matter to me what people decide to give props to Stots for, or what they don't. I just think saying oh it's just common sense to simplify a "good" coaching decision and excuse it away is mostly about a bias to discredit him. It's possible to excuse just about any "good" or "bad" coaching decision to fulfill a narrative.

I'd say Stotts has done a lot better as a coach this year in terms of shaping the offense around Nurkic, now he goes away from it at times of course but still Nurkic has been a huge part of the offense this year and that means that Dame and CJ have to at times play off of him. It's easy to excuse that away, by just saying it's common sense Nurkic is a good passer so, therefore, it wasn't really good coaching.

I think Stotts has done a good job of riding "hot" players at times this year, whether it's Nurkic, Layman, Dame, CJ, Hood, etc but I suppose that one could easily just say well he lucked into it, or that it's common sense to ride the hot player.

I guess what I'm saying is that it's extremely easy to just say that everything good that's happened this year has nothing to do with his coaching, and sure there's some merit to it. I just think it's somewhat disingenuous to then basically throw all the bad stuff at Stotts and say well if we didn't have Stotts everything would be better. We all know his PNR scheme has been figured out, but sheesh sometimes Dame and CJ's lack of interest on the defensive end is just crazy, that's not a scheme problem... I saw Dame let Wright and Conley blow by him over and over yesterday without a Pick, when a pick did come it was even worse.

I'm not defending Stotts, I've been very critical of him too I just don't think it's incredibly fair to throw shade at him every time the Players do something stupid. Ultimately the Players like ET should know better to then commit some of the bad turnovers he commits. A coach shouldn't have to tell a professional athlete to stop throwing lazy passes, or that maybe they should move once in a while instead of park themselves in a corner. Feels like almost every loss it's "all because Stotts didn't do (x)", but every win it's almost entirely on the players and any credit he's given is excused away.

I hope you realize the main reason I bring it up is because of people calling out others for not giving Stotts props, stating what he should be given props for, etc.

Do you really not think it was common sense to leave a red hot Rodneh Hood in the game instead of subbing in Harkless over him?
Also,, I complain about players too. But I lit off those mistakes ser unique, I'm the moment plays that are mistakes due to fired legs, lack of skill, poor execution, etc.

It's not the same mind-boggling mistakes as being so set in stone with one defensive scheme that we continually let players who thrive in the mid-range and floater range go off because we refuse to change a scheme. (Remember Beno Udrih years ago? Same issue, no improvement.) Or because of a continued lack of preparation in regards to late-game situational defense (times like CJ being in for and of game/regulation defensive possessions). I could point out multiple instances.

Players are going to make mistakes in games. Coaches will too, but I expect the coach to at least improve over time, and I expect the coach to have some knowledge of proper adjustments.

You're making the mistake of thinking I only blame Stotts. I simply talk about him more than anything because I love looking at basketball from a coaching, schematic point of view, and his mistakes stand out to me more than anything else.

I know this was just a typo, but for some reason the idea of someone saying his name like you spelled it amused me.
