It was the same guy who threatened Marzy with both actions. Marzy asked me about the alleged culprit but I could not recall anything about him that could be used to identify him for Marzy. Although I think the alleged culprit took it too far, I could see his point in that Marzy had said something particularly nasty but not illegal about another poster. How come I, an elderly statesman with a notoriously bad memory, can recall this but you, a young pup, can't remember it? OMG, did you forget to take your required monAlzheimer's test? It's a lot of names and some of us don't have the time to investigate all of them. Also, some of the names are already well known and there is no need to investigate their misdeeds because we've already investigated them.
Sounds like @MarAzul was right again. Terrible thing to falsely claim someone did something like that.
LOL! 1. It was Oregonlive. 2. I had nothing to do with it. 3. The mods in New Jersey deleted all of it. 4. I didn't really give two fucks about it. 5. The only reason I ever became involved was because someone claiming to be a detective from the Coos County sheriff's office called me demanding the name and phone number of the other person. (Which I actually had from organizing the Meet and Greets with Kevin Pritchard. I told the detective I would need a subpoena before I released anyone's private information. I was called from a blocked number so I had no idea who I was really talking to.) 6. It was a huge contributing factor of the No Personal Insult rule that was started here.
He was only partially right. Don't forget that the action that started all this was something particularly nasty that Marzy said about someone who is now a respected poster in S2 whom I'm sure you know and respect. Also, the reaction was not really intended as a real but rather angry response to Marzy's post about this other, now S2, poster. Would I have done it? No, I thought Marzy's post was all wrong but I never would have responded that way.
It could have been a real detective. Props to MarAzul if he filed a police report. Again, it had nothing to do with me. My only opinion is that that behavior was fucked up and will not be part of a community that I'm helping to run.

What two things? I've already stated that Marzy, and I presume when you say 'he' you meant Marzy, inititated the whole affair.
I didn't pull anything out of my ass. The statements of burning down a house and raping a wife were actually said. Everyone agrees on that. Who said it is what is being disputed.
This is where Lanny is a bit confused. The poster that was arguing with Marazul went by HopeRunsDeep on Oregonlive and posted a few times here under the moniker chevyrunssometimes here. As far as I know chevy is not posting here under a different moniker.
@MarAzul says Sly pulled the idea that Marz threatened to burn down someone's house out of his ass. Now we're at the point of foggy old memories. I'm going to have to take @MarAzul side on this.
