Game Thread GAME# 79: BLAZERS @ NUGGETS - APRIL 5, 2019 - FRIDAY, 7:30 PM, ESPN & NBCSNW

I feel like Kingspeed tonight. The Blazers are gonna win 51-53 games and it seems like people are whining and complaining. Would you rather they not have a chance for HCA?

 

I'm saying you don't have to be genius to predict a L in this game in January. After Blazers dropped Dallas and Miami games some posters were like "we just had game off, there's nothing to worry about". Yeah, team was lazy after 5 days off and if they not smart enough to know they shouldn't put themselfs in "playoff seeding on the line" in away game in Denver, just before playoffs, risking injury of your best player by literally droping game against Miami, well, coach shoul tell them that.

It was a L game in my calendar. Not hating, just don't understand it.

Apart of that I don't think this playoffs seeding number will do much difference for Blazers as we had no3 last year and it hasn't help much.

 

... What? How am I whining and complaining about the amount of games their gonna win... I was saying I hate all the resting of players that like half the league is doing right now.

 

Who cares if it was an L in your calendar though... The experts had them at 35 wins or so, does that mean they shouldve only shown up to play for those 35 games?

Playoff seeding may not matter a lot, but it doesnt hurt to have HCA.

 

Nobody cares about your calendar. The team isnt gonna throw games in April with seeding/HCA on the line, and to say thatd be smart is ridiculous.

 

I was talking in general about people in here but I also don't like complaining about what other teams are doing. I'd rather be disappointed in seeding than be one of those tanking teams.

Well man, if you had it as a loss in your calendar why didn't they just forfeit? In fact why don't they just not play any of the games and you can just tell us who your calendar says will be champions.

So would I but those teams tanking like crazy do effect seeding, which is my problem. Just look at tonights scoreboard, Houstons gonna go into the playoffs on a massive roll because literally everyone they play but OKC is trying to lose. Its not that I want to be Phoenix.
After Nurk got hurt the emotional side of me was like wel this seasons over lets keep Dame out and try again next year, I was being stupid though. In not stupidville you play to win and it messes up the last month of the season when literally about half the league is all of a sudden “too injured” to play some of these line ups are just not NBA teams, they’re G-League teams in NBA uniforms...

 

Yes, it hurts. Opening the playoffs in Utah is not what we fucking want. After a great season, I don't want us to be behind the 8 ball to start the playoffs. I really want to open the playoffs at home even if we only split the first two games.

 

But other than Denver we've played a lot of crap too and end the season with back to back non-playoff teams.

 

Im totally aware of that. Just think the end of the season has become a little bit of a joke and I think its bad for basketball in general. If the players dont care, weve got General Soreness resting a game vs Milwaukee cause he feels like it, if the teams dont care and just want the season to be over it is bad for the sport.

 

Phoenix and New York have no incentive to lose. They are already locked into the bottom 4 and the bottom 4 all have the same odds of getting the number one pick. This is new to curb tanking. Knicks and Suns should go for it the rest of the way. I was telling Chris though, the best way to end tanking would be to make it so the bottom two teams don't get a first round pick at all. That would make for some very exciting games down the stretch.

 

Sorry, but that's a terrible idea.

 

Well the problem is, the idea of the draft is to help the worst teams by allowing them to get a good (hopefully) young player.
So if a team really, does just suck, its kind of a groin kick to say you suck and you dont get a first round pick...

 

0-7 versus OKC/DEN with one left to play. Just a crappy 2-5 record would have made such a difference right now. The whole "it's just one game" thing is going to come back to haunt us I feel.

 

Woah Woah there turbo. Nobody said Aminu is a shitty post defender. My only statement was that Aminu got smoked tonight by Milsap. I also said the Blazers don't have anyone better. Then i said the Blazers need to adjust and give him some help.
I am not a huge fan of Aminu. He has some huge flaws in his game but seriously that dude comes to play every single night. I doubt there is a player other than Dame that leaves more on the court game after game season after season than the Chief. Lets not get confused here and start calling players "Shitty". I have called him a train wreck when he is dribble driving, bouncing it off his knee, but that is another conversation altogether.
