CJ was pretty clear that he'd play when he felt like he could play, and that he wouldn't play unless he felt good enough to play.

From what we know of CJ over the past few years, I don't think anyone--including Stotts--could make him play if he didn't feel like he should.

Sorry for using the actual definition of words rather than definitions you made up!

You can try to spin it if you want, but I guarantee you Popovich would not be playing CJ right now. Obviously CJ is not going to throw shade and admit that he thinks Stotts is pressuring him to get reps.

The fact remains that CJ said he “didn’t need reps” in the regular season when asked a direct question along the lines of “Stotts says you need reps, do you?” Obviously I’m reading into this, but I don’t think it’s unlikely that Stotts is doing his usual and rushing him back. Stotts will likely be fired if he doesn’t get past the first round this year: there is a conflict of incentives between him and CJ, who is thinking long term.

that's a safe guarantee seeing as how CJ doesn't play for the Spurs....I can also guarantee Stotts won't be ejected a minute and a half into a game too!

Me too. It’s probably bc you’re incapable of treating me like a decent person and the only time you talk to me at all is to smugly correct me.

“CJ had a serious knee injury, rest could help”

“NO. IT WASNT SERIOUS. IT WASNT SEASON-ENDING.”

“Uh yeah but the word serious just means ‘important / demands special care’ ... it doesn’t mean you were knocked out of the season.”

    “OH BROTHER.”

“Uh sorry for using the correct definition of a word?”

“THIS IS WHY EVERYONE HATES YOU. YOURE WRONG. BYE.”

Oh and don’tforget the time you said I was “bitching” about Damian. It’s astonishing you can act like this and think you’re being civil...

Yes. You’re just redefining the definition of a serious injury. If you have to sit out for 9 games, is it really that unbelievable that you might need to sit out for for a few more games?

Plus the jury is still out on CJ. Virtually any knee injury is a “serious” injury, one that knocks you out for 3 weeks is certainly a serious injury that warrants consideration of increased time-off.

None of this is controversial, but I said it so it’s terrible!

The team has a medical staff that knows what the fuck is happening with CJ....if he's playing I take that into consideration and respect their judgement...if you don't...that's your choice but there's no argument to be had about it

Ah yes the trustworthy blazers medical staff. When have they ever gotten anything wrong! Brandon Roy totally didn’t end his career by rushing back to the playoffs amirite

There’s plenty of argument to be had about it, just not with sub-human rookie scum like Nurkalicous!

That's just way too long for a user name...I liked the simpler "Nurkalicous" better

I'm not "spinning" anything. I'm quoting CJ as well.

This is the same interview where he was saying he doesn't need a tune-up game. I can't read that in any way other than "CJ is playing because CJ feels ready to play".

What does Brandon Roy have to do with the Blazers medical staff? Are you under the impression that the same people are in charge? Or do you just pick and choose when to bring objectivity into your discussions?

So this is the thread to the game that hasn't been played yet and this is where it is at this point?

    Go Blazers!

    You’re quoting a politically-correct non-answer from
CJ and refusing to even consider any other explanation. Again, he’s obviously not gonna come out and say “YO! STOTTS MAKIN ME PLAY AND IM NOT READY THAT FUCKIN BUM ONLY CARES ABIUT NOT GETTIN FIRED.”

It’s possible he feels ready to play. It’s also possible he doesn’t. This answer doesn’t really tell us anything. What we know is Stotts would surely rush a player back.

I have never been under their care but as i understand it. The Blazers have some of the very best in the league. As has been exhibited by the relatively low injury games they have had to deal with.
You are absolutely correct that they are a different group from 2008-2010.

Sly would be able to change your username for you if you wanted a different one. I like "Nurkalicious", personally, but it's your account, not mine.

How do we know that? Do we have an example of that from previous seasons that I'm forgetting?

A better question in when Stotts hasn’t rushed a player back.
