Maybe that's because I was kidding? I'm not actually advocating killing everyone you see.

But I will note that someone else said here that 1/3 of Americans have a criminal record. So maybe you should only shoot every third person.

No, they make that determination, not me.

But if some criminals think stealing my possessions is worth losing their own lives, maybe their lives aren't of much value to anyone.

Bottom line, criminals can't ever be trusted and the worst must always be assumed when they threaten you or yours. Anyone breaking into my home would be assumed to be there to murder people, and dealt with accordingly.

That's not the issue of this thread, nor is it ever an issue.

You should call the President and let him know, it would really change his hiring practices.

I don't need a firearm. The spiders I save will have my back.

A customer shot and killed a would-be thief on Tuesday as he tried to hold up a Family Dollar store in Atlanta, police said.

The shooting took place in the early morning in DeKalb County.

County police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer told WGXA that an unidentified suspect entered the store and pulled a gun on two employees.

While the armed suspect was demanding money from the cashier, a customer pulled his own gun and fired, Fox 5 reported.

Police are investigating the scene but said that the customer will not be charged in the shooting.

There were at least three customers and two employees in the store at the time of the shooting.

There were no other reported injuries or fatalities.

Police laud heroism of Tennessee man who stopped suspect in dental-office killing

By Paulina Dedaj | Fox News

A Tennessee man is being hailed as a “hero” by police, who say he shot another man who allegedly entered a dentist office and fatally shot his wife

Sullivan County Sheriff Jeff Cassidy told reporters on Wednesday that earlier that day authorities got a report of an active-shooter situation at David A. Guy Dentistry in Kingsport.

Cassidy said it took officers six minutes to respond. At the scene, they found that an employee had died, allegedly gunned down by her husband.

Cassidy, who described the situation as “workplace violence” of the “domestic type,” said the situation could’ve been worse, had it not been for a citizen with a concealed weapon.

“We do have a concealed-carry permit holder, I’m not sure where he was at at the time, but call him a hero. He took care of the situation until police officers arrived,” he told local media.

He said the man "saw a threat and eliminated that threat and stood by him until law enforcement arrived.”

Police have not identified the suspect or victim, pending notification of kin. But Cassidy did say the husband/suspect is at a local hospital being treated for a “couple of gunshot wounds.”

There were no other reported injuries; police are still trying to determine the motive for the fatal shooting.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Amazing that I am 64 years old and have NEVER been in a situation where I have felt I needed a gun. Same with my dad and his dad. And we all lived in that crime ridden city called Portland. Are you the George Zimmerman of La Pine? :biglaugh:

So I don't know if I needed a gun or not, but when I was 20 I was robbed at gunpoint by two Black guys. I only say they were Black because of shame, for at least a couple weeks after that I think every time I saw a couple of black guys out walking I would get really nervous... I had to make a conscious decision that hey just because those two guys did that doesn't mean two white guys couldn't have done that and it doesn't mean all Black guys are like that. I feel so bad about how easy it was to make me kind of racist. :(... I'm glad I stopped myself before it went any further, but I still feel bad about it.

Also in St. Johns where I grew up, we had a cocaine dealer across the street and it was fairly common for gang members and drug busts and police running through our yard or people banging on the door in the middle of the night wanting in. I mean by fairly common it was probably 10-15 times the entire 14 years we lived there so I guess it wasn't an everyday occurrence, we didn't own a gun though.

That tracks. My brother was injured in a gang shooting in St Johns, 3/31/92. Major event in our lives, to be sure.

But not a gun owner. I'm a terrible Republican.

All you have to fear from me is that I'll maybe steal a beer from your frig. Yeah, I'm that brazen. Of course we'd be watching a Blazer game together and there's no way I could keep up with you.

I've only been shot at in combat. Else, a big fat zero.
I have had a knife pulled on me and stuck up to my gut without penetrating. I was so pissed I didn't have time to get scared which is the way it was in combat.

Not at all, you, like me, are an old school Republican back when the party had scruples.
