There is much to like about German. Imagine.....he was a throw-in with Yankees obtaining “the wrong OF” from Miami Marlins. The kid works fast and shows good plate control......until he tires later on. Cashman wasn’t even looking to get him; Miami suggested the move. Says a whole lot about Yankee GM’s pitching knowledge.
If I didn’t know better......just looking at fans’ attire with blankets and woolen hats on, I would have thought I was watching a football game! And today is May 5........where the hell is Spring?
I do not think this game will continue. It’s almost 8 PM and Twins need to catch their flight out of New York.
I've been watching MLB Network since the delay began, they gave coverage on all games going but this one. Post the 5th the Yankees are ahead, Minnesota got their bats, call it a day.
^^^^^Chapman declared as the Yankee closer is nothing close to The Great Mariano. Comparisons will always exist.....when Chapman enters the game, just pray that there are no men already on base! He can be wild & can create his own mess on the mound.
Brian Cashman stated that Severino is not expected to rejoin the big league club until after the All-Star break, and with Paxton set to miss approximately three weeks with a left knee injury. Game Recap- Yanx win the rubber match vs the Team with the once best record in MLB. The stigma of not being able to beat teams over .500 may very well be over; at least the string is broken. German improved to 6-1 with a 2.35 ERA, throwing a career-high 108 pitches (69 for strikes) to tie the Rays' T. Glasnow for the Major League lead in Wins. BUT- Glasnow has a league leading 1.46 ERA to go with that 6-0 W/L record. German threw a career-high 108 pitches today. Of them, 33 were that devastating curve he throws. The curve was so effective today that he induced seven swings and misses with it; way more than he had with any other pitch he threw today. Gas Kahn- recorded a strikeout while completing the seventh inning, becoming the third pitcher in Major League history to record at least one strikeout but not allow a hit or run in 11 straight relief appearances. He has retired 28 of the past 30 men he has faced, holding opponents hitless with two walks. LeMahieu with his single/RBI has a streak of 12/25 with RISP. Otto came in and gave up an immediate walk, followed by a passed ball/wild pitch and a Hit by Pitch beaning; b4 the criminal was let out of his shackles... Sancheeto allowed one more passed ball today; for a total of 4 on the season in 16 games catching to go with his 5 Errors; stellar defense-NOT. 1-6 w/RISP 6 LOB Boone says Frazier will be activated tomorrow- No way were there 38, 603 in Attendance. That has to be ticket sales. It's always good to see Pinhead lose; now 2-3 with a 6.59 ERA
