Episode 4 - It was ok, a lot of misdirection going on here. They are trying to convince people that Jon will end up sitting on the iron throne, that would officially be the worst ending possible and the most unGOT thing I can imagine. He has to die, most likely showing Daenerys the errors in her way of thinking. That’s probably the bittersweet ending HBO has been mentioning.
I don’t think either of them will. They’re making Dany look really bad right now though. Clearly Arya and Clegane will sneak in through the gates that Cersei decided to leave open. Arya will kill Cersei. Clegane will kill his brother. Maybe the 7 kingdoms will become a republic. The writing is shit right now so it wouldn’t surprise me.
HBO has stated the ending is bittersweet, one or both have to die for that to happen I would think. No way GRR let’s Jon live at the books conclusion. This isn’t fucking Lord of the Rings, main characters are supposed to die in GOT. With Jon’s dragon dead I’d put the money on him dying and Daenerys living. Unless all the Dragons end up dead.
You really think they'll have Arya kill Cersei after she already killed the Night King? That would be horrible.
If Arya kills Cersei and The Night King they officially ruined the show. Jaime needs to kill Cersei and Jon needs to end up killing Daenerys or vice versa imo. The Hound kills The Mountain. I’d like to see The Mountain kill Arya and then The Hound kill him but HBO doesn’t have those kinda balls. Oh yeah and Tyrion kills Varys, Grey Worm kills Euron. Roll credits.
I have seen some supposed leaks and some of them included things that actually happened in the show tonight so I think they might be true. I won’t say what they are, but if they come true I think people will be really really unhappy. They predicted the dragon death at the hands of euron and the girl getting beheaded by the mountain. They also predicted sansa telling Tyrion about Jon. This show is about to end horribly.
I don't know what is unGOT anymore. There was a time where I thought it would be a cool twist if everyone expected a fucked up ending but something happy happened at the end. Now it just seems like it's becoming "Disneyfied".
Now that the Night King is dead, does Bran have an actual purpose? Did he ever? It's like his only purpose in the show is so we can see scenes from the past as part of the storyline. Lame.
Yeesh. Well, only two more episodes. I feel like I have to go down with the ship at this point. There was a time when this show and certainly the novels, emotionally gripped me as tight as Star Wars did when I was a kid. The way Infinity War and Endgame are doing now. GoT is unrecognizable. It's been descending since they wrapped up Storm of Swords source material, but damn the slope is near vertical as they come to the finish line. Benioff and Weiss are terrific at adapting, but as original story writers that's just not their game. Even the show's best directors can't save this season. Maybe Martin is intentionally delaying the books just too distance himself from the show. Five years we'll forget about the show that we'll perceive as fan fiction and it won't mar the remaining story as told by the books.
A couple of random thoughts ... (mostly Dany-oriented, because she's the character in whom I am most invested): 1. I almost was at a point where I was not going to watch the final two episodes because of where I worry they are taking Dany. 2. It seems like she's descending into madness and people are questioning her state of mind. No one seems to consider she doesn't really have anyone now. Just Drogon. And she's aware of that. They showed it in the scene where she watches the Lannisters with Brienne and then the Starks and Jon being lauded by everyone while she sits all alone and she leaves. She's lost her father, both her brothers, Drogo, Barristan Selmy, two of her three dragon children, most of her Dothraki and Unsullied and now Jorah and Missandei. Daario is half a world away. She's a stranger in a strange land. To me, it was painfully obvious that she's become aware how isolated she is here. She desperately needs Jon to go along with her, and he doesn't. Varys never was trustworthy, and, while Tyrion wants to believe in her, he obviously is having his doubts. I feel so much sympathy for her, because no one understands her, and no one really is trying to. But the other characters can't see things through her eyes; they see through the eyes of what they know of her father. 3. I watched a video suggesting maybe Dany is pregnant. Would make some sense, and add to her emotional swings and impulsiveness, which was so increased this season as to almost make her seem to be an entirely different character. As if all the other stuff already wasn't enough to frustrate and sadden her to the point of rage. The only problem is she's been so stressed physically and mentally in this season as to make it highly improbable that she'd not miscarry. But there has been so much more plot armor this season compared to the other seasons, so they could do it as a swerve to save her character at the end. 4. Honestly, as I was writing this, I think the best thing for Dany would be to return to Essos, to found a new kingdom made from the city-states she conquered. Her thinking and approach was forged in Eastern culture, and it hasn't translated easily if at all to Westeros. All her titles and accomplishments mean something in Mereen and Yunkai. Maybe she should just return and settled there with Daario. 5. RIP Rhaegal. I now really hate Euron. 6. I guess Bronn's actions in this episode were consistent to his character if you view his character in an extreme sense. I don't know. It just seemed a bit off to me. 7. I think Sansa is going to end up on the Iron Throne if there even is such a thing at the end. I think Cersie, Jaime, Euron and the Hound end up dead. I wouldn't be surprised if Varys and Tyrion die, too. I think Drogon probably is killed. I think if Dany lives she doesn't stay, and I don't think she and Jon wind up together. I think Arya lives but leaves. I think Jon might very well take Tormund up on his offer to stay with the Wildlings, because he has no interest in ruling. I think that would be sufficiently bittersweet.
I didn’t give anything away. Just that they seemed to be spot on with what happened in the episode last night. If their supposed leaks are true, I think people are going to be extremely unhappy. That’s all I’m going to say. Hell, I think people are already unhappy so I don’t think that comes as a shocker.
In another note, did you guys see the starbucks cup on the table during the celebration feast? Dany apparently needed a caffeine fix.
My predictions Jaime kills Cersei Hound and Mountain both kill each other....maybe Aryas involved? Jon kills Dany Euron gets torched
Not only are her plans crumbling around her, Dany also has undergone a change of title: Mother of Dragon.
