"Hey, you're watching the Blazer game...

You're gonna be really unhappy at the end!

    What I'm not spoiling anything!"

Sometimes I have to watch games on a bit of a delay. If I get a text "Are you watching the game?" it doesn't spoil anything but I know one of two things happened. It's a super close game or someone got seriously injured. I don't know exactly what happened but now I spend the whole time watching wondering which one of the two it will be (or in the case of the Nurk game both occurred). So now I'm doing nothing but thinking about what would make me unhappy about the ending. It's not technically spoiling it but there is also no need to mention it in this thread. Start an OT thread with all the spoilers you want but I want to continue to discuss the current episodes in this one without someone changing my viewing thoughts.

Being disappointed with a game that has only two possible outcomes is a tad bit different from a TV show that has any hundreds of possible endings.

Also, the supposed leaks might not even be true. You're assuming that I know the outcome with 100% certainty.

Yes, I'm aware but you have to understand my point too though right?

I love talking about theories and guessing what's going to happen but presenting them in a way that you may know the ending because everything else was right that was predicted from your source is different. All I'm saying is make a spoiler thread or put spoiler tags on your post if you reference anything from that again.

I'm really puzzled about something. Why didn't Euron finish them off after he destroyed their ships? Was this just yet another example of really stupid writing? Did I miss something in the episode?

Practically this whole season is one big example of stupid writing.

Example- how the fuck did only half the unsullied and dothraki die?

How is that even remotely possible?

The wights had overrun the castle. Where were these legions of troops that survived?

My gut prediction is Sansa sits on the throne at the end, something goes wrong while Arya tries to kill Cersei (let’s say Dany and Drogon burns everything down, killing both...) Sansa kills Dany, Jon leaves to Dragonstone or Winterfell... bittersweet

Now that they're "only" cousins instead of half brother/sister, could Jon and Sansa end up together? There has always been a weird tension between the two.

You know what would have been a wrinkle that nobody saw coming? Arya kills the NK. Arya now controls the army of the dead. Take THAT Cersei!

Or if Bran could do it. That would actually give his character something worthwhile. I mentioned this after the episode last week.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I hope you're not right, as Arya killing Cersei would be silly for at least two reasons:

    1. Using the same person to kill the Night King and Cersei smacks very much of deus ex machina. Arya comes back to Westeros as a murder-god, capable of closing off every narrative line.
    2. Jaime (or, far less likely, Tyrion) has been fated to kill Cersei all along, due to the "valonqar" prophecy. Jaime killing his twin has good narrative symmetry. The writers tried to head-fake as though Jaime is headed back to King's Landing to re-join Cersei, but almost certainly his intent is to kill her.

It doesn't make sense to send Jaime back to King's Landing for no narrative payoff. However, the major mistakes the writers have made over the past few seasons means that I'm open to the possibility that they do something silly to end the show.

However, as things stand right now, I liked this past episode. I thought Missandei's slow radicalization and her final entreaty to Dany to go full hellfire worked well. If anything was going to push Dany over the edge to "mad queen" it was seeing her most trusted and loved advisor advocating that course and being murdered.

I'm split on Jaime's outcome. The show seems to go out of their way to portray him as a perpetually conflicted character (the Cersei rape scene), rather than a permanently redeemed one. I can see the appeal, as that's what made him such an interesting read to begin with, but Martin hasn't given any indication (yet) that Jaime is going to be giving into his darker side again. This may be another example of the showrunners going rogue. Still, it doesn't make much sense that Bronn would reveal he's been contracted by Cersei to put the hit on Jaime, and that bit of knowledge makes him run back to his sister's side.

#2 is technically incorrect. It translates into younger brother, not necessarily one of HER younger brothers. That being said, I think Jaime kills her and dies hinself

This season of GoT is making the final season of Breaking Bad look great.

Sure, technically, but that would be silly if it meant any younger brother in the world. It makes the prophecy functionally meaningless. It would be a really poorly-written "gotcha."

Cersei kills everyone. Then she resurrects the Night King and they live happily ever after.

With how poor the writing has been the last couple seasons, it is surely going to happen this way now.

Dany climbs on her dragon and flies the fuck out of dodge and tells Westeros to go fuck itself.

At least that's what I'd do....

The dragon kills everyone and then it sits on the iron throne.
