Given this is Denver's 2nd 7-game series in a row, that would seem to be most needed for them. 2 days isn't long enough to acclimate to the higher altitude for Portland.
I Think it's better for us, we lost game 1 and game 5 when our players had just 1 day to acclimate, but our boys won game 2 After 4 days in Denver. But i'm not a player and i have never been in Denver, so i dont know if it's a big Deal or not
The team with the bigger stars and the better coach wins. Dame + CJ + Stotts ... it is theirs to win.
I like the 2 days of rest. Blazers will be fresh. The time off between rnd1 and rnd 2 was too long. 2 days is good. Let us get used to the air up there.
Not sure it helps Portland, but I don't think it hurts. This may be a stretch but ....many times on a back to back on a road trip, good teams quite often win the 2nd game after losing the 1st. For whatever reason the loss is so fresh in their mind and they are so pissed...they bounce back with more vengeance. Maybe, just maybe, with two nights off, the Nuggets will relax just a little and the Blazers can stay close in the first half. If it is close in the 2nd half it just takes one player to go off. I expect Dame and CJ to play big minutes Sunday, so in that respect it may help us as well. The home team is usually the deeper team
Keep wondering when Denver would get tired and slow down from all the games they've played but it hasn't happened. To be young again..
Interesting article about adapting to altitude for athletes: https://sportsscientists.com/2010/0...ing_wp_cron=1557502454.2642879486083984375000 I've heard the Timbers prefer the smash & grab model. The Timbers recently won in Salt Lake City. Hell yeah!
Lillard saw his shot go in last night. Bad news for Denver. I hope Stotts gets in their asses about rebounding though. When Barton got his own miss due to 4 Blazers standing there looking around I lost my shit. We were the more physical tram last night. Make our free throws, get some boards and we move on. Line is Denver -5.5. I think it comes down and Blazers win outright. We should be sitting and waiting on Houston/GS winner right now
Given my mad work schedule this week after these late games, I appreciate this rest as much as the teams
After losing game 3 in 4OT's, Nuggets fans are saying the same thing. Everything that has transpired to bring us to this point is now irrelevant. Sunday is all that matters.
Both teams can argue that besides for Game 5 and game 6 that every other game could easily have swung the other way. These teams are matched up very well against each other.
Ehhh...I think games 1 and 2 were pretty clearly owned by their victors as well. It's really just 3 & 4 where the loser felt it was left on the table.
This could probably be its own thread, but I think we should spend the next 2 days bombarding Altitude Sports, the radio for the nuggs.with emails calling for a public apology from Scott Hastings for his " kick him in the shin" comment regarding Jusuf Nurkic. I'm pretty fond of Nurk, and 20+ years ago when I lived in Denver, I enjoyed Hastings, hes usually pretty funny, and maybe he was trying to be funny, but he crossed a line and needs to be called out for it.
I think Portland. An extra day to acclimate to altitude. Extra day treatment for Kanter. Mentioned yesterday Dame has ankle hurting, gives him extra day to rest & get treatment. Not long enough for rust, unlike Game 1. A day to rest, a practice, and then ready to roll.
