How satisfied are you with this season?

If the Blazers lose Sunday, will you be disappointed in this Blazers season?

  1. Yes--the title is suddenly up for grabs this year, and they need to seize this golden opportunity

    22.1%
  2. No--they've already accomplished as much/more than I expected, especially considering Nurk's injury

    77.9%

I'm sure some will see this as a jinx thread. I don't care.

I am stating outright, 2 days before game 7, that I am fully satisfied with what the Blazers have accomplished this season. Not saying I don't want a win Sunday; not saying I don't want a conference or league title, not saying I don't want the team to improve in the offseason--not saying any of that. What I am saying is that if the Blazers do lose on Sunday, I will look back on this season fondly, pleased with what they did, with how they performed, not disappointed at all.

However I know that there are many places on the spectrum for fans to fall, so I'm curious where the rest of y'all are at, at this moment, in regard to your feelings about the season.

Every loss is disappointing, no matter the circumstances and caveats.

Now you consider how young and inexperienced Denver is and how KD won't be playing for a bit, and how golden this opportunity is to get to the finals, it'd be doubly disappointing

I think there's a difference between being disappointed in a single game and disappointed in the season as a whole.

A good percentage of people in here wanted Neil & Terry gone and were doom and gloom.
I think both Portland & Denver have accomplished much and have earned the respect of many throughout the league.
Doc did a nice job in Clipper land and its great to see Milwaukee soaring.

My point remains. When else will we get this kind of Fortune? Ya Nurk is hurt but we can beat Denver and KD is gonna be banged up, and Houston's gimmicky game will catch up to them the more they progress. This is an unbelievable opportunity that we should not squander

Oh, I understand your perspective. Heck, I thought I verbalized it pretty well in the poll response options.

Between the refs, the league, our injuries, our defense, and our bench, I get very nervous.
I assume that something will go wrong - it usually does. So, getting to the game 7 of
the 2nd round is very satisfying.

Remember, quite a few national prognosticators had us missing the playoffs altogether.
The rest had us losing in the first round.

    Random fact via my youngest:
Lillard is 3-0 in game 6s.

Listen to the first 30 seconds of this to hear what some people were saying:

I voted that I would NOT be disappointed....BUT..
They've come this far so may as well finish the whole fucking thing.

Ill be extremely satisfied with what they were able to do without Nurk and looking back on it, be so much more upbeat about the team than I was last year at this time.

Obviously if theres a loss on Sunday, I’ll always wonder “what couldve been”, and losses are always disappointing. Its just so good seeing this team fight, and not get down and as a fan all I can ask for is they lay everything out there every night, the only game they haven't done that in the playoffs was game 5. So ultimately in a game 7 you lose, you tip your cap to the opponent say heck of a series.

Very few teams could do what the Blazers have done without their 2nd best player. All that said, much rather they win on Sunday.

I will be bummed if they lose on Sunday, but at the same time I feel like they overachieved this season, especially with Nurk out.
I still believe they need an upgrade at one of the forward positions. (While keeping CJ) I want 4 reliable shooters on the floor at the same time.

I do think we are close with Dame, CJ, Hood, and Kanter, but I would prefer Nurk in there with a really good shooting stretch 4.

How could you be dissapointed? When you came into the season with 27 Million tied to Meyers/ET and are playing games in May, that is a success.

compared to the expectations I had before the season, the Blazers have achieved a great deal. And that they are a 7th game upset away from playing in the WC finals, without Nukic, is actually amazing. And to be at this point, 7 months after Paul Allen's death taxes the limits of bitter-sweet

so yeah, this season taken as a whole has been great. If Portland can somehow find a way to re-sign Hood and Kanter would be icing on the cake. Losing a bunch of their free agents because of tax issues would be a bummer though

Like probably everyone else, I'm crazy proud of what this team has accomplished, but I'll be disappointed if they don't get the chance to go to the WCF.

Great season...totally enjoyed all of it so far and still cheering! We win 9 more games and we get a championship! 5 more and we win the west! What's not to like? We have accomplished one thing that stands out to me....we have really made Portland a place where players will want to be. The league is taking notice. Free agents have finally signed here and the results have been awesome!

The Blazers, after Nurkic's injury, went out and took the 3rd spot in the west rather than fall out of playoff contention as some people had thought they would do, and wouldn't have been surprised if it had happened. We ended with a better record than last season which shows that the team is heading in the right direction. We have been in a dog fight this playoff season ever since game 1 with the Thunder. And, here we are 7 wins into this playoff season with game 7 against the Nuggets coming up Sunday. A clear improvement over two straight playoff seasons in which the Blazers were swept in 4 games.

I can't see any way to be disappointed in a Blazers season that has shown clear improvements in the team overall. I really hope for a Blazers win Sunday, but if it shouldn't happen, I will start looking forward with excitement to all the possibilities to come for this team next season.

If KD leaves to the Eastern Conference, the league is a lot more balanced and Golden State is all of sudden beatable, i think Lillard, Mccollum and Nurkic can beat Steph, Klay and Dray. It all depends on if KD is leaving or not

about not making it to the WC Finals: for me, 'disappointment' isn't the right word. It's closer to 'oh well'. Knowing what we know now, if the Blazers had a healthy Nurkic and a healthy Kanter, then yeah, disappointing

but disappointing kind of implies failure and this team has had almost none of that over the last month or so

I have to think there is a part of each of us that if we don’t pull out game 7 would be a little sad because of the whole “what if” scenario especially with Golden State looking vulnerable with KD and now without? Milwaukee would be the toughest left IMO and that’s on the finals .

With that said I can’t see how this season cannot be viewed as anything other then a great success with a lot of awesome games (especially in the playoffs). This team went above and beyond expectations and now have gotten even more growth and experience for future playoffs runs. And yes we not be able to keep Kanter or curry or hood or even any of them, but I know a dame lead team can be willed to great things along with nurk and CJ and now maybe Collins? Along with any other pieces we may get. Stars looking to be traded May view us as a destination they’d want to go too as well.i for one could not be any more happy with this season and and even more prouder to be a Trail Blazer fan.

This isn't a black and white answer for me.

On the one hand, who would have thought we'd get this far when Nurk went down? Based on that alone, this season has been a huge success.

On the other hand, we have a once in a lifetime opportunity in front of us. The Red Sea has parted and there is a clear path to the other side. I will be disappointed that we couldn't take advantage. This team has a shot at getting to the Finals simply because of injuries to the Warriors. They just need to get past Denver, and they should really want this more than Denver. This is Denver's first time into the postseason with this group. I really wish Stotts would have recognized that Collins and Hood needed to play more.
