Firstly, I agree with that. But race is just a word. Words are defined by how people use them. The generally accepted definition and use is for white (caucasian), black (African), asian, etc. I'm all for it eventually leaving the English lexicon, but it's just not correct to use the word to describe a nation of people.
This is just my dumb opinion, but the problem is using generalities and stereotypes to color groups of people. Its tribalism. Do those guys speak my language, look different than me, have general interests that we share, sexuality, world-views, etc. Call it racism, call it whatever but its wrong to paint individuals that may be “part” of a group with stereotypes associated with a group. The reason why saying, “black people or serbs use the victim card”, or “are lazy”, or whatever is wrong is because you stop treating people with the respect that they deserve as an individual and you begin judging by things that are probably not true.
It's the closest thing. White people to me are British, and American. Should I call them east Asian? They're not European. What do I call them other than the invented construct of "race"? Bottom line: When he said his "German friend" said all Bosnians are lazy, many people in here called that racist. Find the thread. You didn't come out then saying "well Bosnian isn't a race"... Man GTFO of my face right now and address the guy who's grouping people together and labeling them. You still haven't said shit about that. Jesus... I can't believe this shit....

This thread, no offense @Natebishop3, IMHO shouldn't be in the main forum. It's devolved as a thread and should be in the OT section. Just read the thread (sorry you'll never get that time back) and you decide. But some shit was said and it's not cool at all and I was personally attacked for it.

The entire forum called his friend racist. At least 10 posters said that. It's been said before by many others and I'll say it again because it's true. I won't tell you to take more of your personal time to find that thread where he said "his friend" said "all Bosnians were lazy", but it's there in black and white.
So it's ok for me to say: Just asking for a "friend"... Just a day ago the forum came together and defended me against blatant racism. Well what happens when it isn't so blatant? If the above statement is something that's ok to say in the forum say it now and I'll STFU. But if it's not ok.... Why the FUCK are we addressing me and not him?? I'm the only one saying something directly to him and here you come admonishing me.... AMAZING... I'm doing what a mod should do when someone says something like that... But again, if that an acceptable statement here I'll be quiet.
I never saw that thread. But if I had I probably would have said something about Bosnian not being a race. As I said I agree that race isn't (or shouldn't be?) a real thing anyway. I don't think I'm "in your face". At least I wasn't trying to be. Sorry if I came off that way. I don't think I defended anything that guy was saying, and I wouldn't. The things he's saying are stupid and I usually just ignore people like that on here. When I respond to people it's because I think they aren't stupid and a discussion with some substance can be had.
Thank you for the compliment. I make honest attempts to have well formed outcomes with whom I converse. It's just when you glossed over whatever asinine comment he made and immediately addressed what I feel are trivial semantics, it's hard to know where to go from there. Of course Serbian isn't a race (they're human too) but I think that's the wrong point to argue.
@Labinot41 wasn't wrong with his statement. You can call it whatever you want, but even today, most of the Serbs think they didn't do that much wrong in the war which is nonsense. They are always mentioning NATO and USA 1999 (you know what happened then). Playing victim card. You have one of the biggest war criminals and killers in the prison and yet on their(Serbian) national TV you can hear they are war heroes. There's that. The other thing about Bosnian being lazy eh. Similar when we say Germans aren't funny. It's generalization, but it isn't far from truth. Of course, they are bunch of hard working men and women eveywhere so I guess it isn't fair to them. Although, laziness is closer term for people of Montenegro, as we all make jokes about them being lazy. It's all fun tbh.

@Labinot41 Needs to stop saying these things about different countries. As I'm sure if I stooped to that level I could say something about his country. He's done it with people from Bosnia, people from Serbia, as well as people from America. Can't get mad you got stung if you poke a hornets nest.
