So Stephen A. Smith has the Blazers giving up CJ to get Butler after that game 7 we all just watched?
Right. He doesn't. Which is why this is probably something that should be considered. Why would Dame NOT try to recruit Jimmy?
This type of move is the only way I can think of to make it work: Butler agrees to sign for something like 4 years, $100 million. Blazers get Butler Wizards get Turner, Harkless, young assets via Blazers, and 2020 1st/2022 1st both via Blazers 76ers get Bradley Beal I don't know if any of the 3 teams do that. This is just way too out in left field.
Collins has def boosted his trade stock imo with this playoff run, but I would tend to agree that unless were using him for a third star I would rather keep him and watch him grow. For someone like AD I agree with you as well, but with our center woes next year until nurk is healthy and maybe no Kanter, I don’t really like the trade for butler at this time.
If our lineup was somehow dame,CJ, Butler,Zach and Nurk by the end of the year next year...........watch out
Butler said today that he's opting out and expects any one to consider signing him to offer him a max deal. That would start at $32.7 million. He's only making like $19 million if he opts in. That is not happening.
Blazers Gets: Jimmy Butler, Taurean Prince, Hawks Get: Evan Turner, Maurice Harkless, 2020 1st, 2022 1st 76ers Get: Gary Trent Jr, 2020 & 2022 2nds Idk.
Dude you really gotta stop making it sound like someone said something that they didn't say. Just because you think trading CJ is the only way, doesn't mean that's what Stephen A said. Why not just say, "Not gonna happen unless we trade CJ."
