So the 76ers basically trade Butler for Trent? :smiley-smiley-049:

Aldridge is still a good defender, would give Nurk room around the rim, is awesome in the pick and pop, and has a game that will see him into old age. I don't think you go hunting him, but I'm not adverse to him coming back. Love though? Only if he wants the vets min, and we've gotten all our other targets.

I know it’s hard to imagine LaMarcus back after what he did, but we are so close to a championship, he’d surely put us over the top.

    Let’s say the price was;

Evan Turner, Moe Harkless, Gary Trent, Skal Labissiere, 2019 First round pick, 2021 lottery protected first round pick for LaMarcus Aldridge and Marco Belinelli

Would that not be a HUGE get for us?

Then let Seth walk and make money, and retain Kanter and Hood somehow, re-sign Aminu and Layman (if cheap) too. When healthy the roster would look damn good.

    Dame / Simons
    CJ / Belinelli
    Aminu / Hood / Layman
    Aldridge / Collins
    Nurkic / Kanter / Leonard

Bet they didn't call the foul that came after that pic.

Just because you have a bias against Stephen A doesn't mean the story isn't true.

    I don't see a foul there...

    :dunno:

If he got all ball there, that's a great defensive play.

If Jimmy Butler did his usual Jimmy Hyde transformation, he could possibly force his way to Portland for a package starting with that.

Why would the 76ers even bother? I doubt they'd help us out for that little compensation.

    I agree.

I'm so used to seeing Dame get hacked and shoved on his drives, that in my mind I can see Butler either pushing into Dame's body or swiping through his arm after that moment.

Pure speculation on my part, of course.

Yeah... I guess I'll just agree to disagree. I don't want him back in any capacity.

    There's a referee tenet:

    Start, Develop, Finish.

You always (100% of the time) blow your whistle during the finish of the play.

That picture is during the development stage of the shot. Having a patient whistle there is key so there is no anticipation of contact.

Butler is not leaving Philly. They would be stupid to not fork over the dough to pay Butler and Harris. They tanked for years; time to put a dollar in the kitty.

So Philly gets Trent jr and a couple of late 2nd round picks for Butler? lol, Philly would laugh at you. Heck Atlanta gets the better deal for Prince which is maybe a slight upgrade over Harkless.

Generally, words that come out of Stephen A. are not worth discussing, and this is no exception. However,
since we have a thread and people are in fact, discussing it, I'll chime in.

Philly is in a bit of a pickle. The result of the process is a bare cupboard. Check it out:
    https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/PHI.html

Basically, only Embiid and Simmons are under contract next year. They almost have
to give Jimmy and Tobias what they want.

    Nightmare scenario (for them):
Embiid gets hurt. Jimmy and Tobias don't re-sign. They have boatloads of cap space and
no one to spend it on. They'd have to re-start the process. If that unlikely scenario happens,
they'd happily sign and trade Butler for young talent, expirings, and draft picks.

Would you give up Simons to get Butler? I would. I want to win a championship and I believe we’re close. If KD leaves golden state, even closer.

    Dame
    CJ
    Butler
    Collins
    Nurkic

    God damn!

Forget Butler. Odds of it happening are extremely low. I would rather try and work a deal with Boston for Jaylen Brown. I think he is just waiting for a breakout year and Boston is likely looking to make some changes after failing again in the playoffs.
