I'm a 100% certain he didn't call a play other than to let Dame "do something".

The argument that "anyone can coach 4 all-stars to a championship" is so boring and lazy.

Kerr won a title with Klay, Steph and Dray. Why couldn't Mark Jackson do it?

    Something I can admit.

Learn from my example and maybe you wouldn't have to be the forum member that eats worms.

Long, thin, slimy ones. Short, fat, juicy ones. Itsy bitsy, fuzzy, wuzzy, worms!

If the Clips can beat them twice... We can beat them 4x.

But I didn’t say anyone. I said Stotts. So you are lazily making a statement to fit a narrative. Mark Jackson is terrible. There is a reason he hasn’t been hired yet. There is a reason one of his assistants secretly (then got caught) recorded his meetings. He was a shit show.

So you are OK with people being critical of Olshey?

I agree, let's focus on Stotts v Jackson. His regular season record compares favorably with the Stotts era Blazers. Until this season, his post season achievements were equally "meh."

It's like you are judging the 2 by different yardsticks.

Not sure what that question has to do with what I posted as that has nothing to do with what I posted. It's pretty obvious the Warriors have been the superior team in the NBA for the last 5 years which would imply they have a better roster. Do you agree or disagree?

I think it is awesome that we have made it to the WCF.

That is below their average for the season. So that means we did okay against one of the greatest ever teams, right?

Because he made adjustments that you'r average fan wouldve made. Things he shouldve done in Game 1. And the adjustments werent as effective as they shouldve been because he's too rigid for myself.

I'm not going to give Stotts props for doing things I would've done. I hold him to a higher standard.

The Warriors had 50 at halftime because of the scheme. Then went on a quick run because of transition basketball and Portland turnovers. Then started getting easy buckets in the halfcourt because of Portland failing to rotate on the backside.

    Look...

If folks think the coach is impervious to criticism, you're fuckin' with the wrong fanbase. We are one of the most INTELLIGENT fanbases in sports.

We know our Blazers and we know basketball.

No one, Dame included, is above being criticized. Frankly, Dame has been too loose with the ball this series.

But the losses are on coach and there's NO REASON why folks can't voice that.

The reasons are glaring us right in the face.

Because he said he didnt know what to do...

And Kerr 1000000% outcoaches Stotts. I dont know how you can watch the way those teams play and think Stotts is as good of a coach as Kerr.

Even with the failed rotations, Portland only gave up 25 in the 4th. 5 turnovers in the 3rd crushed us.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I don't think Stotts could have replaced Mark Jackson and turned the Warriors from a solid playoff team to a 67 win juggernaut and champion. No one thought the Warriors were amazingly talented or a sleeping giant or any such thing when Kerr took over. I remember that offseason, in a thread here I picked them to be an approximately 50-win 3 seed and people found that to be too high. Kerr proved himself to be an excellent coach, building a great scheme that took full advantage of the players he had--Draymond Green potentially never breaks out as a star under a less creative coach.

Stotts is probably an average coach overall. I don't think he's terrible, but he's one of the many coaches that generally is very replaceable--doesn't really help the team get to another level (but also doesn't make them worse than their talent). Talent is always paramount, but coaching is important to maximize talent. I'd much rather have Kerr as coach than Stotts.

This is a really good read on what happened with Kerr and the Warriors. And for people that don't think coaching matters.
