I for one don't get the problem some folks have with Neil and Woj being really good friends..they ..have a long history..so what?

please don't, that's a bad memory... I'm not questioning their heart at all, just it's really hard for me as someone who can be way over the top competitive to be ok with not being #1.
I am not even trying to make the case the NO didn't deserve the extension that's why I said I'm not sure how I feel about it lol

I'm mostly boggled at the LENGTH of the extensions we've given to Neil/Terry. I wouldn't have liked Terry at any number of years, but 2 years seems a lot more reasonable for both him and Neil.

You can still send it. I'm sure they can find you something. HCP's assistant maybe.

There is a difference between acknowledging and rewarding continued improvement while near the top of the league versus being content or "ok with not being #1". They are not mutually exclusive.

Thats 100% right! I think the culture that is being built here is great and conducive to attracting other players, in time.

Of course they want to win a championship and getting WCF experience is a step in the right direction and now they’re banking on continuity the whole way. I mean should 29 teams fire everybody every summer?

I'm not saying I agree with this but (at least in the West) the continuity approach has worked out better or just as well as the other teams that took big risks.

Yes, we need something that takes us one level higher but it's just not factual that taking risks leads to progress.

This takes their contracts out to when the Rose Garden lease expires, right? So all the pieces are in place to tread water until the team moves to Seattle.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
This seems fine. Olshey really blew the 2016 offseason, but he's made smart moves since then--the Nurkic trade added a key core player and his acquisitions of Kanter, Hood and Curry added crucial depth. Over his tenure here, he's been a mixed bag but somewhat more good than bad, I'd say. He's not an amazing GM, but he's probably in the upper half overall.

Not to mention that a new owner wouldn't want to be handcuffed to somebody else's coach and GM.

I guess I am somewhat glad that Olshey will have to live with Dame's supermax and what to do with Turner.

Most of our biggest fear is that Olshey may have more interest in defending his past decisions than in pulling the trigger on changes if it becomes obvious they need to happen.

He blew the 2016 off-season. Far worse, he didn't clean up the mess he created.

Not physically, they've known each other since Neil's New York days.Woj was from Conneticut and Neil was from Syracuse...Neil talked about it once in an interview. They have a long history as friends. My point is...so what? Woj is a connected national sports insider and our GM has his ear...sounds like an asset to me.

I edited that so it doesn't sound misleading.....they came up in the sports world in the same area and have known each other for pretty much their entire careers...probably a better way to put it

Hopefully the job security gives Olshey the courage to make a Big Deal.
