It looks like this is the as he can get to be a head coach. It also it tell if he was running the Blazers defense scheme or was it Stotts. Because wasn't he supposed be in charge of the Blazers defense scheme.

Yeah, weird, if it was just about money it seems like we could have matched. Maybe he just really, really, really likes ice fishing and, uh... the Walker Art Center modern art museum...?

Whatever the reason it's a tough loss.

We should go after thibs. He could learn a lot from stotts and vice versa.

Here's hoping that's the thinking. I'm not sure if we can get somebody better or not, but it would be nice if this were a move to improve the team somehow...

I like Moran and his energy with players. He can coach. I think he's going to be the one to fill the void.

A guy that was credited with the development of our guards, all of whom have been tremendous on offense and lousy on defense, gets hired away to be in charge of the defense with basically the same title? Only with Minnesota would that make sense.

I wish him well....hopefully now we can bring in Tom Thibodeau or a bona fide big man coach like Laimbeer or Ewing...if not, Earl Watson needs a job...he's a pt guard defensive guy...Wes Mathews praised his toughness on defense

This is a bummer, no doubt about it. I'm sure Dame in particular isn't thrilled about this news.

I'm guessing he got some feedback after all his interviews that he needs to be able to show some ownership in the offense or defense of a team he's been an assistant at and he isn't getting that in Portland. I wouldn't think he's doing this if his role is purely lateral.

I hope we don't promote from within as bringing in fresh ideas to a coaching staff is typically beneficial.
