As someone who has had a surgery or 2 in the past, REST. Don't fucking push yourself afterwards.

water work outs and yoga...tai chi....and power walking ...worst thing you can do is atrophy from lying around...of course that depends upon the surgery

Yeah, definitely got that on the mind. About to go for a walk in the hall. I will be doing things to keep my body going as I begin to heal. A two week liquid diet is going to drop me a few pounds.

Not going to push myself. Will meet with the nutrisionist and figure out safe non rigourous exercises. For now though a brief walk and rest.

You are right, atrophy from laying on you're bum is best to avoid. Broke my right arm once, spiraled the humerus off! Looked like an elbow you don't need! I looked at that and dumb shit was all that came to mind.
Took a long time to heal that bone and atrophy of the arm and shoulder really set in. Not a damn thing could be done about it though, you just have to wait for that bone to stiffen up again before you can do zip about it.

Not trying to hijack the tread, just trying to say to CC, if sippin soup is all you can do, then sip the fucking soup!

Least they cared enough to put stitches in. They just glued me back together like I was some third-grader's art project.

I had a Blazer doctor do the surgery on my knee long ago. He had me doing leg exercises the same day as my surgery. I was still groggy from the anesthetic. The follow-up physical therapist was also a former Blazer physical therapist and he told me that I was healing faster than any athlete he had ever worked on.
Another one of my multitude of doctors once told me that there is no ailment that physical exercise wouldn't improve. I'm a big believer.
