He can be traded right away by himself. August 24th he'd be eligible to be traded along with other players.
Way I view it is he’ll be Hoods replacement and could be used at the trade deadline if the blazers fall out of contention or someone like Trent proves ready for a bigger role, making baze expendable.
So pretty unlikely he is going to be traded anytime soon. Doubt they would do a press conference and then ship him off.
I’m surprised Neil specifically mentioned the possibility of Bazemore replacing Hood. I think Hood is as good as gone.
Do you have a link to it? Kent has a such a great head on his shoulders. I can see why Hawk fans were so sad to see Baze leave. Edit: Loved NO's quote about "There are guys that require a little bit of maintenance but are worth it". I think that was in reference to LA haha
There was never any question on that in my mind. We needed to re-sign both Hood and Kanter but realistically knew we could not get both with the MLE. Neil just verified what we all knew was coming.
He's made good moves the whole time he's been here. He's been the best GM we've had in an extremely long time. Anybody who wanted him fired or railed about how bad of a GM he has been should man up and eat crow. If you don't like people holding your feet to the fire just don't be so over reactive. It's been bad. Many posters on here honestly owe him an apology. Call it eating crow or whatever you want. It's been out of line.
I'm with Bones on this one. He has made some great moves and some bad moves. Nice to see it on the upswing, but that doesn't negate the mistakes. And Little was a gift that he cannot take credit for.
Plenty of other teams (and GMs) were also given this gift and they chose to pass on it. If it works out (can't judge it one way or another for many years) he certainly deserves credit for it.
Seems like a good kid. I can see why Atlanta fans are saying such nice things about him. I'm all in! Nice work NO.
