I would vote for Julian Castro. Fuck what y'all are talking about. Whoever runs should pick him for VP. Nobody gives a fuck if your don't want you taxpayer money going toward things you don't like. I DON'T WANT MY TAX MONEY GOING TO WAR OR OIL SUBSIDIES... ALL humans deserve respect and dignity. Some of you in here are fucking foul...
My debate watch party was a great success. Started awkward since none of us had met before, I had 4 guests, one having gotten sick last minute, from Indivisible and Warren sites. But having food broke the ice and if I say so myself the food was good. Everyone else said so and the quantities eaten bear that out. Tweaked guacamole recipe and damn it was good. OK - who did well IMHO? Warren - format not best for issue-oriented campaign but she still developed her positions, sounded knowledgeable, sounded like she would be prepared from day 1. Castro & Booker - both gave some good answers, showed passion without getting shrill, and Castro made O'Rourke look weak. Klobuchar - some answers lukewarm but got two best zingers, the foreign policy at 5AM in bathrobe, and when Inslee tried to look like THE reproductive rights candidate, reminded him there were three women who had been pretty involved in that issue. Not so well: O'Rourke, he's fallen off after hot start and needed to revive his campaign. He did not. Gabbard, just didn't really answer questions. DeBlasio, too loud, too bullying, too Trumpian Inslee, apparently a good governor but many of his answers started fine but devolved into "how great I am" Ryan, tried to show he was Republican Lite Delaney, just forgettable Got pretty damn sick of the men interrupting all the time and typically when they did they got the mike. Rewarding bad behavior. All the women stayed polite. Chuck Todd irritated the shit out of me, it's like he knew what answers he wanted and got peeved when they said something else. You're not the show, Chuckie. No party tonight, just eat leftover chili & wings & the last 2 cookies and watch with Lucia. She got annoyed, I had to rearrange the room so 5 people could all watch TV together and cats HATE having their space disarranged.
Todd irritated me as well. I didn't think many of them actually answered the questions but thats the job of the moderator imo.
Wow, that was embarrassing on so many levels for all participants. At least we can finally agree there's no future POTUS in that sad collection of ignorance and unearned "fame". Wonder how the battle of senility fares between China Joe and Beach House Bernie tonight?
I was hopeful that Biden still has the fire at his age after many years, from my perspective as a retired manager thats even younger than him, he doesn't.
Kamala won the debate Joe was Joe, Bernie was Bernie Buttigeg was strong Gilabrand was alright. I liked Hickenlooper and Bennet. Yang's $1,000 bucks a month sounded cool. I think he would fit well in the cabinet somewhere...as president I don't know Eric Swalwell looked like he was going to cry everytime he spoke. He had interesting things to say. Some good moments. I don't think he goes much further. Marianne Williamson....how in the hell did she get in the debate
Kamala impressive. Biden and Bernie need to just go away. I think Bernie was actually drooling at one point. Warren seems impressive as well. Buttichieg or whatever is smart but just too green. If Dems were smart they’d narrow this down sooner rather than later and go all in on realistic winners. Has got to be someone who will go toe to toe with the fucking idiot and is tough. Harris seemed like she’d be unfazed but his antics.
My wrapup from Part B: Williamson: Parody account, like Trump. If the Dems want to pick the silliest possible candidate, she's your man. Hickenlooper: I'm sure he's a nice guy. He doesn't belong in this race. If your big idea is "socialism=bad", you don't have any big ideas. Yang: Sorry, Yang fans. If he's got it, he didn't show it. I guess he needs to be more of an interrupting asshole like everyone else. Buttigieg: Wilted a bit when the 1%'ers attacked him. Might have a Beto problem in that way - might not be good in a clinch. Solid night otherwise. Biden: Started strong, but as the hits piled up, lost his feet. I'm not sure anyone really cares about busing in 2019, but a frontrunner has to defend. Bernie: Combed his hair. Kinda went downhill from there. Made a few good points, but his answer on M4A implementation was ridiculously lame. Kamala: Clear winner of the night. Kirsten the Friendly Ghost: had some good moments but nothing like what she needed to break out. I think she's toast. Bennet: Kind of likeable in a quirky way, but didn't swim nearly far enough upstream to spawn. Swalwell: Looked a bit constipated. He's clearly not in it to win it, he just wants to raise his profile for future races. As such he's a distraction. Overall, these two days didn't change a lot for me. I'm still in Mayor Pete's camp, as far as who I'm leaning towards. The other 5-6 leaders are all acceptable to me, as are several of the 1%'ers. barfo
I agree! And I am older than him. I did enjoy watching Joe stand there and eat shit though when Harris call him out. Damn if I know why Harris likes school busing but never mind, she ripped on old Joe.
