    Whats the line and where it should be is subjective. When my wife calls me clueless she’s certainly not congratulating me for my wisdom. I also dont get to ban her from bothering me 48 hours heh. :)

    Half of it could maybe be used as an insult, but the words themselves arent insults, its the context their used in most of the time.

    In my case, the poster made a personal comment about me that was totally fabricated and I said, "you are clueless as that's not even remotely true."

    Exactly. So when one person tells another person half their age, they are ignorant or clueless about a topic the elder has experience in, its nOt an insult. Its just a fact.
