They also suffered through multiple injuries in the finals with both Durant and Thompson gone and Cousins and Iggy hobbling around. They have been a dynasty.
The last time Lillard played with an All Star was 4 years ago, and Aldridge is not in the same category like the real Superstars, i feel bad for Dame
just need someone that's an allstar talent to demand a trade to portland is all. simple. now, who's it going to be???????? seems to be how these teams are constructed, no??? SMH,SMH
I hope not, I'd rather trade CJ and rebuild around Dame/youth (which I don't want to do) Blake is damaged goods and Love is an overpaid 1980's PF.
Ok and only like 2-3 teams in each of those years had a chance to win. This year GS and Toronto, but Toronto only won because GS ran out of warm bodies to play. Then prior to that Cleveland and GS had met in like 4 straight finals, prior to that Miami was going every year. This will be the first time in recent memory like 10 teams and their fans can rationally look at it and say, we have a real shot, WITHOUT needing other teams to have a ton of injuries. I think its going to be awesome.
I agree Portland should make a move but the only thing they can do, afaik is Blake or Love. What packages can Portland offer? Toronto is probably buying and selling as well. Ibaka is the clear choice; siakim is off limits I think. what about a deal with san antone for LMA? Not my fave but he is skilled. I need rumors dammit.
Would you trade CJ for Westbrook? Westbrook would play the SG and Dame be the PG. Westbrook gives us a big guard, who can actually post up, rebound, play D, ... except we just don't want him to run the point for an extended period of time.
How do we match up with the Clippers? I'm afraid, we don't matchup well #1 (Beverly vs Dame), #2 (CJ vs Leonard) and #3 (Moe vs Hood) and #4 (PG vs Colins) positions.
Dame has always eaten Beverly's lunch, and if Hood isn't better than Hark then Neil fucked up this offseason. The other 2 positions though, I can't say much... But seems to me like we're better in 3 out of 5 starting spots. Of course we don't have a guy like Lou of the bench... Oh wait nvm we have future mvp Anfernee Simons !
Yeah it is the closing minutes that will be the biggest issue for the Blazers and most other teams. Doc's teams play decent D for 3 quarters, but he has them turn it up a notch in the 4th. Tough to play 40 minutes of high energy D and still have enough left over on the offensive end.
Did he really show he could post up and play D against the Blazers. I saw just as much D from CJ in that series.
I think he moved out of the project column during the season and moved closer to a potential all-star during the playoffs.
We're not a team built around superstars. We have one superstar, a borderline All-Star and a VERY good supporting. Most importantly, we have an identity. Our pieces fit together. It's not just a Whitsitt-Grab-As-Much-Talent-As-You-Can. The moves this offseason weren't about talent (although I would argue we became more talented), but about FIT. We're following the San Antonio model, which should give us a shot at a title. Only in Golden State was it going to be easy when they were healthy and had two of the best three players in the NBA. All I care about is that we're good enough to compete for a title. The rest is luck, circumstance and hard work.
