U.S. Vs. Ghana World Cup Match: A TV Ratings Hit For ESPN With 11,093,000 Viewers
US viewers tuned into women's World Cup final in record numbers
I'm sure more people watch the U.S. men's team on average, duh. But it's hard to dispute that there's a large audience for the women's team as well. I root for both.

What are you talking about? Nobody disrespected the flag. Allie Long was caught up in celebrating and it was on the ground two seconds before players picked it up and wrapped themselves in it. Nobody was walking on it or trying to disrespect it. Only media morons with a political agenda themselves could even try to spew that narrative with a straight face.

And nothing wrong with them not going to meet Trump. They're probably, and rightfully so, scared he's going to "grab them by the pussy."

Not the first people or team to turn that invitation down the last couple of years.

That was 5 years ago versus today. Numbers would be different. If the Men played in the World Cup, it would likely match these numbers. but the men's team are fucking losers anyway and these women at least won something. So on that part of the equation, they are better than the men.

Should they be paid the same? Fuck no. No one can name 5 current female soccer players without using Google. Most sports fans can name any 5 mens soccer players with no problem. Democrats are trying to pass a bill to defund the World Cup when it comes to America in a few years if there's no equal pay. And to be honest, I hope they pass it, then FIFA yanks the World Cup from the US and doesn't extend an invite to either the mens or women's team.

They threw the flag on the ground. That's not disrespect? Look, I could give two fucks about the flag to be honest, but I think it was funny and I don't think the women's team gave a fuck either. It clearly got in the way of the photo, so lets just toss it on the ground. Any time you throw the flag on the ground, its clearly disrespectful.

in any case, I never cheer for America unless Lillard is playing.

They did not "throw" the flag down... smh... and no, if you watch the clip it's clearly not meant to be disrespectful to the flag. Just caught up in the moment because a lifelong goal had just been achieved.

    Shocker

The flag was in their hands. They had to pose for a picture. Flag ended up on the ground. That's throwing it on the ground.

Caught up in the moment = had better shit to do than to hold the red, white and blue from being in the dirt.

What would you call it? Would the flag go on the ground on its own volition?

I would call it setting the flag down... where it remained for 1-2 seconds before being picked up.

Call it whatever you want, free country.

Have you even seen the video? It was about a foot off the ground when she let go. And again, intent. It wasn't mean to be disrespectful.

    Yes.
This is clearly throwing the flag on the ground (then they step on it)

And if that's your take away, you clearly have an agenda yourself, because no one who's objective about it could watch that video and then write that tweet. They were never even on top of it.

Shoe touched flag, which was on the ground, where it was thrown while the women posed for a picture.

    Perfect summary of this team.

Why do people even make an issue about sports teams visiting the White House, or not? As if they're somehow elevated above the general population.

    Meh.

Some people just need to be outraged about things, even when they themselves "could give two fucks about the flag to be honest" and "never cheer for America unless Lillard is playing."

    The hypocrisy is funny.

Keepin' them honest. If they "represent" America, when its clear they are not as they are more interested in representing themselves (not that there's anything wrong with that)

Nothing about your interpretation of the events is honest.
At any rate I think I'm done.
    Keep up the good fight.

FFS. A flag was briefly dropped, bumped into, and picked up. The so called incident lasted all of 3 seconds. Clearly unintentional. But for insecure males who hate women's sports, lesbians, outspoken women, equal pay, they have to hate this team. Since no one can dispute their skills, make shit up about their behavior. Doesn't have to be true, just an excuse for the Fox news crowd to clutch their pearls in horror.

I don't know why I bother with checking the forum. I just felt the need to respond to these fabricated posts.

The three women doing whatever hybrid chimpanzee/airplane dance that was clearly didn't give a fuck about the flag. A woman behind them did.

The tweet el pres quoted was maybe not 100 percent accurate but it's a fucking mile closer to accurate than what you two are seeing through your Trump Anxiety Disorder afflicted eyes.

Do you even know why she had the flag to begin with? Because she had had it wrapped around herself as they went around the stadium, which took some time. And I'm to believe that she suddenly had a change of heart and decided out of the fucking blue to thrown down, disrespect and step on the flag because they didn't give a fuck about it? You think that's a fucking mile closer to accurate?

What the fuck is wrong with you? Have you lost all objectivity or are you just completely ignorant to the fact I gave since you weren't spoon-fed it by your conservative media who found a two second clip that they can get outraged over? And then you follow them like a fucking child. Why am I asking, of course you didn't see it in context. That would require an open mind and actually caring to know the truth.

And before you say anything, no, I'm not a democrat. Fuck no. Just someone who hates all you twats needing to be outraged over every fucking thing. The Americans won, showed a lot of national pride afterwards, and this is what you latch onto. It shows just how up your own ass you really are.
