Somehow I think HCP knew that, and doesn't want to admit that he was a HUGE fan of Scott Hall in his AWA days. [IMG]

This line tells me more than the rest of the article does, and tells me baseball is further away from Portland than many are claiming

I don't think baseball wants to let the cat out of the bag. IF they know that Portland (and say...Montreal) are in the works for an expansion team, it potentially puts the Athletics and Rays in worse situations to renegotiate. Why? There are only a few cities that are realistic locations for expansion and or relocation. If you take two of them off the market (by hinting at/announcing expansion), those cities will no longer be used to garner better deals for the teams.

Saw him and junk yard dog Nd macho man at the tacoma dome in the 80’s. Rowdy was my favorite. The rogue guy. Fought both sides.

And ridiculously funny. He's easily my favorite.

Macho Man knew how to put on a good show. The match between him and Ricky 'The Dragon" Steamboat is among my favorites.

You are so clueless as to how important this was, especially for MLB. It’s not that they are going to use unions, it’s the political significance of the announcement.

The political significance was underscored by the presence of Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, Multnomah County Chair Deborah Kafoury, and Metro Council President Lynn Peterson at the press conference.

The project now has county and metro support, that’s the big deal.

It's huge in my circle. My local and the shopmen's local will be the main structural fabricators and erectors. Then there are about 5000 other tradesmen and women that will be supporting their families with income from the work. That is just the stadium. Doesn't even begin to touch the infrastructure involved with a project like this.
Then of course there are the unions that supply the workers that run the stadium for not just baseball but every other show or game that uses it for their venue.

My dad was a bouncer for Portland wrestling in the 80’s. I cant remember the name of the wrestler but he was part of the entourage. Bleach blonde dude in zebra spandex lol. I’ve got an autographed Polaroid in a box somewhere. Long before my time.
