Good for him. He's got some tough shoes to fill though.

I like Travis but honestly...... I just don't think he's good enough to be the main guy. He doesn't have the gravitas that Wheels or Schonz have. I don't listen to the radio as much as I used to, but I know I'm not the only one who wants to hear Wheels call after a significant event like Dame's shot against OKC. I just don't think I'm going to care what Travis' call is from something like that. I think Travis is a fine radio personality, I sometimes listen to him and Chad in the afternoons, but to be the main play by play guy you have to be almost larger than life.

I like the hire. I had hopes that they'd bring back Brian eventually

Feels like Jeff Garcia replacing Steve Young. After consecutive hall-of-fame talents, the next guy is gonna be a bit of a step-down. And that's not a knock on Travis, just a fact of life. Blazer fans have been incredibly lucky to have Schonz and Wheels for a 50-year span.

I can let you all know that THE HCP was in strong consideration for the job. Maybe next time.

It says "play by play", not "janitor"

You know what I just noticed, you never have anything nice to say about me, or towards me FAMS. All this time, I thought we were boys. I'll blame it on the dog days of summer.

Yeah but I feel like they could have looked more thoroughly. They have been dealing with Wheels health for over a year now..... two years? I think they just took the easy route on this one.

Meh I think they know radio isn't a big deal anymore with the rise of technology radio isn’t a popular platform like it use to be

Im gonna go quickly back and delete all those nice things I've said about you, so it fits this description. hehehe

Like, Heavy D and the Boys..I got nothing but love for you HCP.

(btw, funny seeing how heavy Heavy D was in this video, considering how much weight he lost before he passed)

This is alright. Not great but Travis did an okay job last year and will likely get better.

I was really hoping they'd just move Calabro to radio, oh well. I guess we have to hear about player's tootsies being set for the foreseeable future.

It's tough to sub and only broadcast on the road like he's done before....I think it was the logical hire...Michael Holton got a lot better filling Tone's spot with Wheels and I didn't think he had the chops until he did....I wonder if Holton will do the cast with him? To call a game at the Moda Center is much more inspiring than the road gig in my view and Travis has not had that experience much

I like the hire. I think Travis got better and better as the season went on so I think it's safe to assume he'll continue to improve.

Travis put in the work, so good on him. Can they please kick Chad off the 5th quarter though?

When Wheels took over it took a couple seasons for him to earn many listeners approval. I was one.
Same with our TV guys, they are now earning their acceptability for many as replacements for Rice & ? cant remember his name.
