I remember him being a five star recruit out of high school. I like him as a two way candidate because he’s got upside both physically and basketball wise. Whiteside and Gasol are also expirings.
7'1" 245lbs. had nice rebound and block numbers. Interesting. Sounds like he just needs to get stronger and work on his shot a bit. You can't teach 7'1" with a 9'3" standing reach.
Combine measurements 7’2.5” (in shoes) 237 lbs 7’4.75” wingspan 9’5” standing reach 9.50 Hand length 10.25 Hand width Just for reference, that standing reach is identical to Whiteside’s. Only Bol Bol and Tacko had longer reaches in this years class. It’s elite. Definitely worth a look.
I read about him when we were doing the mock draft. The kid has a high ceiling, needs to figure out his body, build some muscle and get some experience. He can be something in the league. He is aggressive as hell in the paint, but his offense is limited. His blocking and rebound numbers are solid. Great two way contract.
Brown was top 5 among centers at the combine in the standing vert, shuttle sprint, and lane agility drills. So the athleticism and the measurements are there. The rest can be developed, specifically his offense, but will take time, making a two way contract ideal. I’m sure there will be other guys getting TC invites though, so he’ll probably have competition for that.
I wouldn’t say that, but he was very efficient. He averaged 9.7ppg, 8.3 rpg, and 1.9bpg in only 23 minutes a night, good for a PER of 22.4, tops on the team.
I like this move a lot! He's probably the rawest project we've had in years but he'd develop nicely under the guidance of Gasol.
Blazers have had 18 players at training camp the last three years. Right now they’re at 16, and that includes Nurkic. Look for at least two more invites. I believe London Perrantes is one, but that hasn’t officially been announced, so maybe not?
