If I had the money, I'd have an awesome, top notch setup. Rollout optional green screen, professional lighting, a fancy, suitable backdrop.

Theres so many successful YouTubers who post videos and podcasts with similar backdrops to mine. Its whats common on that platform. But I've noticed that those who dont watch YouTube seem to be more opinionated on this.

 

I watch youtube and listen to podcasts on youtube without video a lot....I like WTF with Marc Maron.quite a few podcasts..listening allows me to do stuff while listening without staring at the screen....that's the advantage to me. I can still do that with video as well so it's no big deal. I'm sure you'll build a brand however you lay it out. First thing you should become aware of though is not using descriptors like "more opinionated" when people comment. The idea is to draw fans who don't watch youtube as well as those who do....youtube watchers comment all the time on videos ...some guitar teachers I study with online disable comments altogether. I actually listen to podcast while hiking every morning on the radio with an old school Sony Walkman or my Iphone. Radio rules for me over TV...my wife can watch Taiwanese TV and news daily on youtube which is pretty amazing this day and age.

 

That's the cool thing about the library....we all have already paid for it...you don't need the money...cleaning deposit here is 15 dollars

 

Well this is essentially going to be a livestream as well so its a bit different, but we will have audio versions available. It should cover every niche and people can choose to watch it live and engage with us, they can watch it afterwards at any time and scroll through, or they can listen to the mp3.

Ive communicated with you on here for years so I'm going to keep communicating with you notmally, instead of from behind the curtain of me being Youtuber.

 

Its also very impractical. Postgame live streams? Overnight recordings when we have to pre-record? Guesting other podcast hosts? Me and HoopsJock live 45 minutes a part and have busy lives. Streamers dont stream from libraries. They stream from their house.

 

It's actually not if you have the discipline to keep a schedule....I can book the room and stay there from 5pm to 10am the next day if I want...and I have a key they check out to me that allows me to come and go during that time...Woj doesn't broadcast from his home....you can't beat it for free…..I've rented music studios to record in and at that price you can't fuck around....need to be prepared to work within the time you buy or you're going to pay a fortune for a click track. Union scale for lets say a bass player goes for about 70 bucks an hour. That adds up quickly

Library adds nothing to our broadcast. Nobody who already watches and supports us will stop watching us because were going with Blazer-themed backgrounds instead of a library. Its a Blazer podcast livestreamed on YouTube. I guarantee people would be like "Why does it look like youre in a library? What happened to the Blazer background?".

Its impractical, and thats not based on keeping a discuplined schedule.

"The #1 NBA Reporter doesnt report from home"... No shit! But as I said, nearly every other Youtuber does. Maybe once we make thousdans off ecah podcast like Woj does, then we'll figure something else out.

 

John Clayton used to do all of his NFL segments on ESPN from his house with similar backgrounds. Adam Schefter still does too. Woj used to do this kind of stuff when he started off too.

 

I don't know the first two guys but I've seen Woj's videopodcast and it's not his home....his audio podcast might have been. Bottom line is it isn't important...just trying to engage the OP here. It's hard for S2 nerds to leave the basement let alone the house....I get that.

watched a bit of the 2nd.

main thing that i noticed is the audio quality and balancing of the right side dude.

i had to run it louder just to hear thru the low mono sound and then the main vocals were cutting.

seems like the mic is decent, dunno why it sounds so bad. but if i was listening to audio only it'd probably put me off a full show listen. its just too different.

content is good and interesting tho! keep things rollin

We've had all kinds of technical issues. The last two I've had to record my video from my phone camera in selfie mode so it's mirrored. Then Bones has had to splice it into his recording and line them up. By the time we realized how bad the audio was on the 2nd one it was too late to do anything about it unfortunately.
