I guess they see him as their version of Draymond.

More like a Ben Simmons type ( I said type, not actually Simmons). He's built like him and is mostly the initiator on p&r's rather than the roller.

In the sense that they like to take the ball and push it in transition - which is exactly what Draymond does for the Warriors.

Intrigued by Super Mario since we got him, but still quite concerned about his Ast/TO ratio.

I didn’t realize how close Nurk and Hezonja were.

Olshey: Mario has opened eyes. Mentioned that he likes to see how the veterans react to new players and said they’ve really embraced Hezonja’s skillset and “empowered him to have the ball in his hands more.”

Pretty safe bet Hezonja will be in the rotation. Hope he runs with the opportunity because he could really help the team, and nobody else on the roster really offers what he does.

Take it one step further; how many 6’9 (or above) playmakers are there in the league? And by playmaker I don’t mean just passing. I mean operating the pick and roll, putting the ball on the floor, and breaking down a defender.

    Lebron
    Simmons
    KD
    Giannis
    George
Ingles (technically not 6’9 but close enough)

That’s all I got but that’s just off the top so I probably missed someone.

first off, are we talking 6'9 last year, in shoes, or 6'9 this year, in socks? I'd imagine 6'7 or maybe even 6'6 is the new 6'9

good list, but I'd add Doncic, Draymond, Blake Giffin...maybe Jokic, although he isn't normally a put-the-ball-on-the-floor guy unless he's down in the box. Besides Jokic there's Marc Gasol and Al Horford, but nobody will be too concerned about their dribbling

We saw a statue in Dubrovnik on our honeymoon. I was too young to appreciate Petrovic when he played.

Wondering if he produces what Turner did? Without the $70 million contract?

Their career averages per 36 are strikingly similar, aside from assists.

Turner has mostly practiced and played on really good teams, while Mario played in Orlando and NYC.

Given that Turner is 30 and has made $80m so far in his career, and Mario is 24 and we signed him for 2 years at $1.8m per, you'd kind of expect this to be less of a wash.

If Hezonja gives us nothing but Turner without the assists, he'll be a fan favorite. Evan Turner really lowered the bar.

Yep. Pretty much my thoughts. If he brings what Turner did without the obligatory "Turnovers" he will be a great addition at a fraction of the cost. Then if they keep him and pay him a reasonable contract he will be even better.
