Appreciate the good thoughts TB! I'll survive. If you guys must know I had a tumor removed from my neck. Waiting to hear if they have to go back in.

Damn, is this something they missed before when you had the other surgery or had they been monitoring it?

No. After my surgery I decided to take my health a bit more seriously and upon a more indepth screening it was found.

You read my mind. I had to know.
I've got a tumor they're looking at possibly removing considering the speed of it's growth. They're gonna do another MRI in about 4 months.
Now for the bad news. I've got an upcoming minor operation on my arm. They're trying to schedule it for this week. I'm waiting for the scheduler to call me back. Ugh, I've had four or five of these procedures on my arm and a number of others on my neck and chest and I hate them all. They hurt and there's a lot of blood loss. Then after opening up my arm they do dialysis on the same arm the next morning.
Life sucks, and then you die.

They are certain mine is malignant. Not exactly sure what kind. Waiting to hear. Keep your head up Lanny. You'll get through it. What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. I'll be thinking about you. I hope it goes well.

Doesn't seem to make me anything but weaker. Of course I never was the strongest person in the first place.

I could piss standing up right after the surgery....it was squatting that was pure hell...inguinal hernia ...they make 6 incisions ..shove a camera down the navel to the bladder ..shove your intestines back up a tube and stitch mesh around it to hold it in place, then sew you back up....felt like 3 knives twisting in your gut for the first two weeks...third week could walk a bit...now stitches are healing, bandages off....can squat without pain and walk on flat surfaces for short stretches...should be back to normal Nov 14th.....it is a long recovery process. Good news is it's over and I'll be much, much better after another month. Just have to spend the winter lifting light weights and building back muscle mass..

Glad your getting better. Since mine was Hiatal I could walk. Couldn't eat solids for awhile. Is it same for an inguinal? Liquid diet? Took me 6 weeks to get back to completely normal. Pain wasn't too bad after first few days. Don't lift to heavy of weights. You don't want it reherniating.

Funny enough I had to sit down in order to pee after my surgery for the first day. More so because they messed up with the cathater. It righted itself quick enough though.

I could eat solids after the first day but no dairy and no honey for some reason...they said for risk of bacterial infection...my hip socket and groin muscles on the side of the hernia are adjusting to the area so it's pretty sore...can't do any yoga, walk upstairs or lift over 10lbs for another 4 weeks, then I'll be able to do anything normally they say. Doing anything normally was never my strong suit anyway

I overdid it twice and had to take pain killers and ice it down the first two weeks....first day I could sit up comfortably I tried to go for a walk down the road and realized about a qtr mile down that I had to go uphill returning...two steps...rest...two steps...rest....dumb move.....a week later I tried to wash laundry and fold clothes...same thing....pain killers...ice....another dumb move....now I can walk that stretch and do laundry

Wait...it wasn't uphill both ways? I seem to remember an old adage! Sometimes stubborn men like us have to learn the hard away. At least we learn huh. Glad your able to do more.

That was a great event! Thanks @LoveMyBlazers for setting that up. Bob Gross was fun to meet.

Here are some of Bob's comments:
    - Favorite Blazer this 'era': He said he likes scrappy hustling player similar to how he use to play. After thinking a bit about it, he named Harkless.
    - Thoughts on this season: He thinks we got better, but he said the season really hinges on how we start. He felt if we stumbled out of the gate, we may struggle all year. And he was aware that our early schedule is brutal.
    - He currently works as an estimator in the Portland area, working with insurance companies fixing fire/water damaged properties. He said players didn't make so much money back when he was playing.
    - He's not a big fan of how many 3 pointers are shot in today's game. Although he was very impressed how well some guys currently shoot from that deep. He said his shoes barely fit along the sideline 3 point area. In his day, if a guy pulled up 1 on 3 and jacked up a 3 pointer like they do today, that guy wouldn't be playing for the next few weeks.
    - He mentioned that he was not even aware the NBA draft was occurring the year he was drafted. His college coaching staff told him he was drafted by the Blazers (#25) in the second round. Neil @LoveMyBlazers , the president of the Blazer Booster Club noted that the Blazers first round draft choice that year was Lionel Hollins at #6.
    - I asked him what the turning point was for the championship season, why they lost the first two then went on to win the next 4. Was it the Dawkins fight? He felt it was more that the Blazers finished up their previous series early, and had such a long wait until they faced Philadelphia, they simply came out flat the first 2 games. Coming back home for game 3 really sparked them.
    - He thought the team following the championship year was even better, but of course was cursed with so many injuries at the end of the year. He felt that team could have/should have won a few more championships. He noted that he was one of the injured players that year. I believe he said he's had 23 surgeries on his knees.
    - He considers Bill Walton a good friend, but they really don't talk too often.
    - He thought Jack Ramsay was an extremely well prepared coach. Always thinking basketball.
