    Are people conveniently forgetting Salt Lake City hosted THE FUCKING WINTER OLYMPICS?????

    They actually have infrastructure for this kind of thing.

    David Stern who was commish back then wanted the Blazers to be moved to another city out of the NW. Paul Allen upright refused. This pissed Stern off to high hell. The NBA has hated us ever since in rebuke for Paul Allen's uncompromising refusal.

    i was going to say the same thing. they have a HUGE temple and it is world renown. people travel from all over the world to see it. guaranteed they have more hotels there than here.

    If you think about it, when people talk about the merits of Portland, it's usually about what's within an hour (coast, mountains) drive, not about the city itself.
