Dude, the ladies are STILL commenting on your amazing cupcakes! They both related that women love a man who can cook/bake. Crap, and you play the piano and guitar, too?!! You're kinda like a much younger version of this guy in their estimation....
I had to look that up. Baking is new to me, so I'm learning as I go. Based on my search results, I would say Classic. Although, I substituted half of the heavy whipping cream for fresh lemon juice from my lemon trees.
Then I have no idea. I used butter, confectioners sugar, salt, vanilla, heavy cream, and lemon juice.
Quick buttercream. Classic is made by boiling sugar syrup to soft ball, pouring over beaten eggs, yolks, or white, beating until cool & voluminous, then beating in up to a pound of butter. Add flavorings (vanilla, chocolate, coffee, liqueur, whatever). Neoclassic adds a bit of corn syrup to sugar & water, keeps it from crystallizing (I always do neoclassic), same technique. Quick has no egg, beats butter with confectioners sugar, adds flavor. Sweeter.
Almost all of these pics are better than the 'opening video/introductions' the Blazers did this year. I look forward to each new season to see what they have come up with and most times they are very good. This year's seemed to take for ever, had almost zero hype to it and didn't seem to get the crowd into it like usual. Maybe with this opening road trip, they can create something better. If that is the basis for the opening introductions for the whole season....snoozeville to me.
Thanks for the lesson. I've always loved cooking, and feel that creative food is super important. Baking is a whole new world I have just opened up.
@theprunetang, my wife was so impressed with game night that she went out and bought all new furniture for the room - 2 recliners and a sofa-sleeper! Hmmm...I wonder if she was hinting at a cupcakes sleepover?! At any rate, I don't think I'm quite ready to enter the realm of Mrs. ABM jokes.....
Actually, I was referring to what @THE HCP goes through in these parts in regards to THE MRS. It's brutal. Good thing he's thick-skinned, though. Errrrrr......wait.
I know...it's why I didn't run with the foldout bed she bought the day after prunetang visited.....that was a real softball for a joke.
