relative return. If still trying to win, then every game they lose, they must work that much harder just to get back to where they were before they lost. let me explain in business terms. lets say my company makes 10% profit on selling a product. We sell the product at $10 a pc and we sell in 1000pc cases. So each case is $10,000. The profit is $1000.00 or the gain. now lets saw my company scrapped a case. We now have to sell 10 more cases just to make up the $10,000 for the one case. Thats JUST to get back to even. No money gained. If the Blazers really still want to win and be relevant in the playoffs, every game is a must win game at this point. They have to go on a six game win streak just to get back to par. By then a quarter of the season is over. Do you think we can go on a six game win streak? Its possible but clips on the road and sac will be tough. Anyhow, i believe your logic to be flawed, unless you are cool with slithering into a 7 or 8 seed and getting stomped in the first round and losing out on a lottery pick in the process. me? Not so much...
Nope! Never stop! One really good piece that fits well could put this team on a roll. It's a long season. Look what Kanter did for them last year?
The Clippers didn’t have Paul George in that game either. Have you seen the Spurs record? They looked dominant against them because the Spurs are terrible this year. One of the few teams that are worst than the Blazers. Do you have any understanding of trade mechanics and salaries? Blake Griffin makes $35M and Ant and Naz make $2M each.
This is wrong. In the year he was out he worked very hard. He obviously stayed in very good shape. he transformed his body to play a little different style. Melo is a piece that if used correctly can contribute. I have seen enough in the two games to see he can contribute to this team. Right now he is doing more because they need him. But you get this roster back and Melo could be a very good part of it.
Problem with this is you have picked one possession against arguably the most dominant player in the league. Same scenario 10 times? How many times does he score? If you say anything more than 4 times it was worth a shot. If you think he can't score there 4 times out of ten you are fooling yourself. Now do it 10 times against lets say Aldridge, Aminu, Meyers Leonard? Griffin?
This is what i am seeing also. Does fine against second and third string but starters take him out of the game.
What does a “must win” mean anyway? Take apart a team that doesn’t have Zach Collins and Jusuf Nurkic?
Well the whole team looks confused so there is that. Its at the point where I just laugh and roll my eyes when 2-3 Blazers are pointing at the guy who just scored off a wIde open shot or dunk, like who’s guy was that...
You got it right. Squandering an asset for a one-season "win now" piece IMO would be dumb for this season. Now if we either decide to trade CJ at the deadline or trade for another "piece" that will be here for the next 2-4 yrs after this then I am fine with that. For me its all about the next 2-4 yrs after this when all our key guys are healthy and can play together. A 7 or 8th seed IMO this yr is meaningless, if we get there by playing better as the season goes on then great, but wasting an asset for a 1 yr rental of a guy like Gallo IMO is just not worth it.
I've never been into the Otto Porter Jr thing that other Blazer fans have been. That's why I said he'd move other people's needles. I just don't think he's that good, and he is paid like he is really, really good.
You're not taking this tanking thing seriously enough. We can always trade CJ for two second rounders.
I’m sure you can dig up some plays where he does some good things. I’m even more certain I can dig up twice as many that have him behind on rotations (slow), getting pushed around (weak), and out of position (confused). So maybe he actually is how he seems to me? Just a thought?
