Play good defense and don't block out and they scored again points against us and end of the quarter.

The NBA changed the rules so defense is hard. Nobody likes defending anymore.

Why are people talking so much trash about Simons? Last night he went for 11 pts and 6 assists. No, he hasn't been great, but he hasn't been terrible either. Also, his defense isn't nearly as bad as people are stating.

He has been pretty painful to watch tonight. This is Rip City Two. He is now fair game!

Because he hasn't lived up to at all the expectations the organization built up for him. :dunno:
Doesn't mean he wont be good, because he still can be.

Not so sure it was the organization as much as the posters on this site? But I guess.

It was definitely the organization. Mostly Olshey saying stuff like he's the most talented player he's ever drafted or whatever he said.

I literally about got thrown out of here for saying he didn’t have enough experience to have that much hype.

Maybe a combination of both, but it wasn't a poster here who was having a day to introduce Nas and talked about Simons being the most talented guy he's ever drafted. Then spoke about it and had team media people talking about Simons all summer. It was the team that didn't sign anyone else as a backup guard. They built him up all summer as the "next guy who will take Dame's mantle someday", and he might but never understood why they kept talking about it because any struggle at all and you knew fans would start to question it.

Simons has played worse defense than CJ ever has tonight.
The Kings were actually attacking his match up for a good 5-6 minutes out there. Getting an easy bucket.
He was getting beat 1 on 1 and going under screens on Farrel.
Saying he's not ready and needs to sit down for a minute, then come back in the 2nd half and try to have a better run... Isn't talking trash about him. It's asking the coaching staff to recognize what the other team is doing and put the young Simons in a position to succeed.

Early on when Ant shot the ball I expected it to go in...now I'm surprised when it does...that's what I see on the court....he's even shooting 3s two nights in a row while out of bounds...he's getting owned by Buddy Heild...he tries, the game just hasn't slowed down enough for him but in my view....look at his body language and his eyes....he's frustrated and not confident..nobody wants him to snap out of it more than Blazer fans....If Tolliver played like that he'd get trashed all over the boards

Just because Olshey hyped him all summer I don't get why people thought that meant Simons would be great and didn't need to still develop.
