    The Warriors had the pieces. They had a hanfdful of star players. They also had the league backing them as their new darlings. I'm not saying Kerr isn't a good coach or that he wasn't better than Mark Jackson. He is both a good coach and better than Jackson. He is not as good as he is made to be though.

    The Raptors took a huge risk firing coach of the year Dwayne Casey and hiring a coach whose only accolades were coaching in Brittan and coaching the D League. 9 out of 10 times that is not going to pan out. Toronto got lucky.

    Yes Kerr had zero coaching experience. He had the right players. He had stars to make things very easy for him.

    My money is on Spoelstra. Even when theyve sucked, Im always impressed at the effort he gets out of guys. I dont ever remember seeing them the last few years and thinking wow they’re disorganized and not trying.

    right now. he has to be the leader for COY. What Miami is doing is really impressive. Riley might be the leader for Executive of the year as well

    You're wrong man. Not one person thought GS had a championship level roster before the 2014 season when they hired Kerr. If you say they did you're lying. It was a young fun team that had one playoff series win over a Denver team that had a lot of good but not great players. Curry had just signed a 4 year, $44 million contract the year before. No one thought he'd be MVP good, even if he didn't have ankle problems. Klay Thompson was a good shooter but wasn't a star. Green only played 21 minutes a game the season prior.

    Stop making up this narrative that GS was a sure fire championship roster.

    There are always options. Saying you don't think so does not make it true.

    People keep bringing up the roster after we just lost to the Pelicans without Zion. Seriously?

    We barely squeaked by the Phoenix Suns without Devin Booker and Ayton.

    We have significantly MORE talent than both teams. Stotts is a mediocre coach. I think he's good for a rebuilding team trying to compete but he's taken us as far as he's capable. Being nearly last in assists for multiple seasons is why Stotts is so mediocre. He was supposed to be an offensive guru but he's just riding the Dame and CJ coattails. I'd be surprised if we ran more than 5 plays a game. He's a passive observer more than a coach.

    People assume 2 things in these threads:

    1. That players automatically forget every good thing they learned from their coach once he is fired.

    2. A new head coach would be an actual option and would interview with a team who kept current head coach under contract.

    Both assumptions are wrong. There's little risk when replacing an average coach and your players might learn something new in the process.

    Lillard is around MVP level player and CJ is basketball wizard. Those to were named 2nd best backcourt in the league by many experts many times. Most of Blazers plays are ISO for those two guys. I'm not saying that I would be better coach, but for few years now Stotts is just riding on this duo's back, playing them hard minutes as well. Do you really have to be genius to do that? Personally, I don't think so.

    Not even really so sure how good Kerr is without three All-Stars on his team. He has shown with 4 All-Stars he can win a Championship and now with one he is a cellar dwellar. So Kerr? Meh.....

    No. Nobody is making it up. Curry is and has been an MVP caliber player. He just had some injury issues. Klay was in a huge battle with Mathews as far as who was better and he was in his second year. Green was a game changer almost immediately. We all know what Durant brought.

    Nate McMillan used to do it with Roy and everyone was saying how good of a coach McMillan is. It's nonsense.

    Stotts is mediocre. Not horrific and not great, but mediocre. He was fine for when he came on but he's outlived his usefulness. He'd be better off with the Phoenix Suns or Orlando Magic. There are plenty of great basketball minds in the NBA waiting for an opportunity to coach guys like Damian, CJ, Nurk, Hassan, Mello and Hood.

    Start with one who has the concept of running the offense through our big man.
