The thing about Whiteside is you have to keep him angry to keep him interested in the game. He can only play as the Hulk. Otherwise he just turns back into Bruce Banner and runs away...hitchiking bastard

I refuse to accept that. There's always hope.

Lol, I just have 0 emotion towards this team right now which is working out well. When they win, its good, when they lose its fine. Its just a couple hours of “entertainment” and on occasion hanging out with friends at a game. Excited to see a healthy Nurk again someday.

Oh c'mon man, this opinion is crazy Tortured!

Even if you hate CJ, he is a legit starting caliber player. Whiteside isn't perfect but he's been a lot better than Miami fans take on him.

In the past Id get so angry and riled up when they were bad, but for whatever reason at this point Ive just totally accepted it.
Whiteside is OK, Melo’s bad, Baze is bad, CJ belongs as a 6th man or a leading role like Dame has on a ECF team (he’s just not as good as Dame), Dames good. The bench possibly because of injuries is an utter disaster. Sure the coaching might not be good, but I dont know if Dr. Jack could get this team to look good. Down year and thats ok, hopefully next year things are looking better and I dont particularly care how they do it, whether its coaching, trades or FA’s, theres a lot that needs done.

Bam clearly beat him out, and it wasnt just an attitude problem. I dont hate CJ but as a 2g he’s a chucker, I think in a different role he’d be better, when he runs the team he’s much more likely to pass.

Having a personal interest is one possible reason, but there are many more... Just to name a few:

    1) Size of estate -> PA passed 15 months ago? It takes time to go through an estate and determine what to liquidate and what to keep. Thus far we have only heard of the yacht and the stratolaunch going up for sale. I'm assuming those are two of the 'easiest' things to sell off from a logistics/management standpoint. For the size of the estate, I would expect it would take 4-5 years to liquidate the items Jody doesn't want to keep.

    2) Tax planning -> Taxes are a major consideration on the order/sequencing of liquidating the estate. They may choose to hold onto some assets for a while longer for tax purposes.

    3) Existing contracts/agreements -> Blazers are locked in Portland until 2023 and have an agreement to play at the Moda Center until 2025. Jody may be holding onto the Blazers until these contracts are closer to expiring, which would give the new owners more options for which they may be willign to pay a small premium for.

Again, just because the Blazers haven't been sold YET, doesn't mean that Jody has any intention of holding onto them long term.
    Make logic your friend....

Now these are the things that we know for sure:
    1) PA loved the Blazers
    2) Jody never really cared for basketball as a sport
    3) Jody wants to honor PA and carry on his 'vision'. This may include the Blazers, but it very well might not...
    4) Jody attended many games towards the end of the season and playoffs last year. It appeared that she enjoyed the entertainment.
    5) Jody attended many games early this season, but seems to have been absent at the more recent games.
    6) It's too damn early to have any idea of what will happen with the Blazers ownership. Jody may not even know at this point....

All we can do is wait and see what happens. If Blazers haven't been sold by 2025, then I think the odds of Jody keeping the team long-term are very high. Until that point, it's too early to know for sure.

Have you seen what Bam is doing this year? He's putting up numbers comparable to Nurk last season, maybe even better considering his higher assist average and FG%. He's probably the favorite for MIP this year. I don't think there is any shame in saying that Whiteside got beat out by him.

CJ does run the offense with the 2nd unit so why is he not better in that role? It's coaching, in my opinion. But to say he's not a starting quality player in this league is just absurd man.

I have seen what Bams doing this year. The coaching might help, but the talent isnt good either. They just arent good. They are what they are. A superstar with not much else except inefficient scorers and no defense in sight.

Oh and CJ isnt good running the offense on our 2nd unit because our 2nd unit is currently a glorified gleague team.

Okay man, I think you giving up on the season is effecting your logic here but you're certainly welcome to your opinion.

I think that everyone thinking Stotts is the reason for the team being bad all year (and years prior) is also affecting people's logic too. There's some balance in there, bad coaching, bad team, equals bad record. Their bench, especially after the injuries, is just awful. Simons has a good game every 2-3 weeks, which is ok he's young but he's clearly not ready. Little gets really sporadic minutes, Tolliver isn't good, Mario's not very good, Skal was playing ok I guess but he's out too now. The bench is really bad. The starters aren't anything special. Sometimes players just don't mix. They just aren't a good team.

The thing people don't seem to realize is you can't have as many key pieces go down to injury while simultaneously integrating new players to the roster and expect to be any good. It's not just the talent that we lost, but the type of talent. Outside of Whiteside we have NO BIG GUYS that are worth a shit. I'm not a big Stotts supporter, but he isn't the reason we're so bad. It is a BAD TEAM right now.

That is definitely a big part of it and sometimes teams just struggle for whatever reason. We could have come back with the same team and seen similar results and that's why the games are played. Maybe this is just going to be one of those lost years? Sure injuries are part of the game and an injury to a player on team A could have a bigger effect than a player injured on team B even if the player on team B is a more significant player. Chemistry plays a big part in a teams success and sometimes the chemistry just doesn't work.

Attending the games front row and cheering is enough proof for me. Don't expect her to attend while we're sucking though, haven't been motivated to even watch on TV myself.

Well, if she isn't interested in using her front row tickets, I'd certainly gladly take them off her hands...
