I have an irrational love for Harry Giles. We already stole one big from Sacramento, let’s do it again.

    Two problems with that one:

    1) He'll get hurt most likely which will make our depth worse.

    2) Sacramento didn't pick up his 4th year option so I don't think we'd have his bird rights and he'd be an unrestriced free agent in the off season.

yeah but we need bigs now and I doubt there’d be a crazy market for him in the summer.

I was wondering if that might be the case when our name came up in discussion, but both Charlotte and Atlanta have expirings that could work, so I dunno who else it could be.

Although Boston was rumored as well, and they don't have any big expirings. Same with Dallas

I've mentioned this before but I may or may not know a guy who occasionally gets some inside information from someone in the Detroit front office.

I basically said what Quick retweeted this week about Detroit a year or so ago and a bunch of people poopooed it. Their owner doesn't want to go through a rebuild but everyone else in their front office has been trying to talk him into it for a year and a half but he just flat out refuses. However, recently he may be starting to crack a little as it's painfully obvious to everyone but him that it's not working.

I don't mean to repeat myself but here is what I'd do if I was Neil. I would get on the phone with Cleveland and offer them Whiteside and a 2nd rounder for Love. We can play Love as a small ball 5. Then in early February offer CJ and Baze to Philly for Harris and Richardson. I think we'd be just as good running a small ball team as we are right now running whatever it is that we run. Then when Nurk comes back (and I for one think he'll come back ready to play because he never relied on athleticism to be effective) we will have a rotation of Dame, Richardson, Harris, Love, Nurk, Melo, Zach, and Ant. I think that's a pretty competitive rotation on both ends of the floor come playoff time.

With this Philly loses two good starters to get one that is older as well. Their cap is maxed out anyway so it will just cause them trouble so i doubt they would discuss it.

Are you suggesting we get the Spurs 1st round pick top 10 protected and 2 all stars for expirings and a hurt 3rd year player?

As much as I'd actually enjoy adding love, I think in this deal, I'd just cut Cleveland out, and do whiteside for dedmon and bogdanovic.
In the original, it makes either carmelo, little, trent, or hezonja our starting SF. Rather keep bazemore and add bogs.

    Something built around

    Drummond to boston
    Whiteside and bazemore to detroit
Hayward, kanter and snell to portland.

Sprinkle in picks and b level prospects as needed

As noted at the start of trade season, the Memphis Grizzlies (13-21) are expected to trade Andre Iguodala.

"We will trade him, period," an executive with the team said. "We've gone far enough into the structure of deals with more than one team to say that [confidently]."

In other words, if teams like the Los Angeles Lakers (26-7) or Los Angeles Clippers (24-11) are hoping to get Iguodala on the buyout market, that's likely not going to happen.

Finally, Love to the Portland Trail Blazers still makes sense to multiple executives. Whether that translates to what the Cleveland Cavaliers and Blazers believe remains to be seen.
