Lloyd Jones had an interview several years ago and said when he played at Vortex that it was the first time he ever took acid and what a crazy ride it was. Can't remember if he was there with Brown Sugar or his own band. Loved me some Brown Sugar in those days.

They were good. I saw Jacobs Ladder the night I was there. I was into baseball big time then and didnt do drugs, drank some Oak Knoll and Henries, and jumped into a mud tent.

I'll have to go just to complete the cycle.
One question. Do I have to stare at the naked women?

Except for weed, I've never done drugs and haven't done weed for nearly half a century. I'm not the life of the party, I'm the dead of the party.

I don't know why anyone thinks this is a good idea. It's been 50 years. Things have changed.

Does anybody really want to have a bunch of 70 year-olds running around naked?

Hey, hey, hey, leave us to our desires. 70+ year old men in addition to liking to see naked 19 year old women also enjoy seeing naked 70+ year old women. It's 70+ year old men that I object strenuously seeing.
All this means that you'd best cover your eyes when I disrobe else you're gonna gag 'till you almost die.

This is starting to look like a major disappointment.

From the blurb on the website, this appears to have very little to do with getting high and enjoying great music with friends in a nice park. In other words, nothing like Vortex was.

The Vortex name has been hijacked for misuse by commie programmers.

The focus seems to be on socialist activism, signing people up to push socialist views, and getting media attention for socialist causes. Oh and they say they'll have some music too.

I'll probably avoid it and be even more satisfied with my memories of the Real Vortex. Brown Sugar, Jacob's Ladder, Charlie Musselwhite...
