I could never have predicted how upsetting this would be to me. I feel like I spent most of my life hating the guy. But I have so many reference points based on Kobe. Hell, my 11 year old son said Kobe when he hit a shot the other day. This is fucked.

    Sad news.

I can't think of anything to say right now, such a shock. R.I.P. Kobe

I didn't like him as a person (Cordillera) or as a player (because he was a L*ker and forced his way there), but he was an amazing basketball player. Hopefully, he matured out of the public eye. I feel for his family, especially his 7 month old daughter who will never know him. A loss for the NBA.

I always love to hate this guy, but I also hated that I loved him. So sad, so young, so surreal.

I had the same experience with Lady/Princess Di. It's just weirdly out of the blue.

LA Times reporting that crash started a brush fire and that prevented any rescue attempt.

Yeah man first thing I did was travel back to the past to myself as a kid shouting Kobe as I hit a shot on the playground hoop. Shit is wild, very sad.

No matter what the dude did to our team, none of us can deny he really was one of the greatest of all time.

Saw the Woj tweet and couldn't even process it. Just complete shock. Started shaking. Then you start thinking about his family and what they're going through.

Then saw the CBS report with Jim Nantz and Nick Faldo during the golf tournament...that's when it really hit me.

    RIP Kobe

    Prayers out to the family.
