Last night the best defense guard was Trent. CJ couldn't contain him Dame always had problems with him. But Trent slow him down last night. Last night CJ was in his own zone on offense with blinders on offense and total worthless on D trying to guard Westbrook. When we got the big run was with CJ on the bench last night. Everyone was in the offense and they lock Houston down defense. Am I dogging on CJ the answer yes for last night game. I don't care for players that one demisional especially ones that got just signing over 30 million extension. Now has CJ play some good games on both sides of the the is answer yes. But last night wasn't type of player that trying to make other players better around him.

Define "reliable source". I have read articles that say the Blazers won't make any moves and I have read articles that say they will. That's called speculation, not reliable source.

I just think it’s a bad business decision to stand pat as @BonesJones said, you have to strike while the iron is hot on an expiring contract that is unlikely to be retained and is playing at an All-Star lever statistically.

There is no way I can prove myself to you... but it’s from a good friend who does business with someone in the organization... and I believe the source. I’m not happy about it though because I believe Whiteside is the last big trade chip the Blazers have if they are dead set on keeping Dame and CJ together

Everyone wants to trade Whiteside but remember you have find a mutual partner. What I read there real slim pickings who would want him. Olshey not just going to trade him for some crap. Remember Olshey has let a few players just run out there contracts. Olshey might just might want to see what kind team he has when majority of players are healthy. You also remember he traded for guy and yes some of the reason is Nurk being injuries but maybe he want to see if Nurk and Whiteside can back each other up.

Olsheys history suggests he’s comfortable with letting pending free agents leave for nothing, so I don’t think the odds are great we see a Whiteside trade, especially if ducking the tax isn’t a priority.

I want a better defender at shooting guard than CJ McCollum. I will give up the spectacular dribbling for another level up in defense.

It’ll never happen obviously but I’d be down to trade CJ for a legit wing/PF and replace him with Trent.

What condition is Nurk in anyways? Isn't is possible he'll have a minutes limit or even game limit on back to backs?

I would too, of course depending on the legit wing/PF.

So what does that list look like?

Love, Harris, Jrue? That’s about the only legit Wings/PF that could be available possibly.

I doubt many would object to a quality trade but just to make a trade and the trash is bigger the good then it's likely not worth it. Like what was mentioned above is it at least takes two to tango.

I still contend that trading Whiteside and Hezonja for Batum (ewwwwwwwwww) and three 2nd round picks including the 2020 Cleveland 2nd (currently tied for 32nd) would be better than standing pat IF Jody didn't care about the tax situation next year. It would save us money this season too. Send one of those picks to Philly for Jonah Bolden or only get two 2nds and take Hernangomez back from the Hornets as a temporary stop gap at center, or heck sign Faried for the rest of the season.

I think the most likely moves would be dumping Biggie or Hezonja to create a roster spot or using them to take a shot at someone buried on another bench. The Olshey special.

    Yup!!!!!

Not trading Whiteside this year means they are more concerned about getting the 8th seed than they are with winning a title in Dame's prime. Even if I granted you that it was strictly financially motivated, there are deals they could make (expiring crap for expiring crap) that saved them money this year and still came off the books at the end of the season. Deals are out there to be made if you're creative enough.

Dumping Hezonja would be great because then we don't have to worry about him picking up his option.

Not in my eyes and I won't be convinced otherwise.

Even if Whiteside was willing to re-sign and come off the bench next year or Nurk was willing to do that (neither would happen but I'll play along), that is basically saying that Collins will never play a minute of center because there aren't minutes available. It completely ruins lineup flexibility while still leaving holes elsewhere on the roster.

I want Karl Anthony Towns. I don't know if he's available or what it would take to get him, but he would be a great #2 guy with Lillard. Towns is a high-level scorer at a different level than McCollum, even shooting better than Lillard in his fantastic season.
His TS% is 64.6 vs Lillards 62.1. But I'm comparing him to McCollum, not Lillard. McCollum's true shooting percentage is 54.2 percent.
Lillard and Towns together would be tough to defend. Towns is shooting 41 percent on 8.2 three-point attempts per game this season.
