That's not what he said though. If he said he sees how she thought she didn't consent, it would imply he's admitting that his actions had something to do with her thinking that. He said he sees how she feels that she didn't consent based on things he learned after the fact, not based on things he did before.

Again, of course he would say that after the fact...and of course he might word it that way after the fact because otherwise he'd be in deep shit.

All things considered, I believe he got away with a crime mainly because of his notoriety and the ability to afford high end lawyers.

I believe I can’t call Kobe a rapist given the circumstances and evidence that is public knowledge.

I wasn't saying anything about whether or not he committed a crime. I've just seen people (not necessarily MM) take that quote out of context and say that it is basically him admitting he didn't have consent. Which it's not.

The detective asked him if he thought it was rape and he answered yes it was rape. I don't know how you can get much clearer than that.
His only concern seemed to be not telling his wife.

Then you can't call OJ Simpson a murderer even though he is.

The evidence against OJ is more damning in my opinion.

How many rapes as we define them happened in the thousands of years before we decided that rape was a thing? Anyone?

Just because we have defined it now doesn't mean it didn't happen in the past. When human beings didn't have any language was rape as we know it impossible?

Nope, being convicted or not doesn't change whether something happened or not. It changes how we as a collective punish someone. That is the only difference. Louis CK is barely allowed to live and Kobe was a saint now. Go fuck yourself if you think that.

Some of you are really lost in hate and rage.

why, may i ask are some of you so hatefu towards Kobe for something he allegedly did, when even if he did it, the accuser took money and his wife forgave him? If those two could forgive and move on then the world should.

i mean those are the two affected the most and they moved on but some of you who never met him. Never knew the FULL story(only Kobe and the alleged victim knows), yet hold more of a grudge than his wife????

do some of you see how insane that seems, so worked up and angry about someone you never knew but was forgiven by his accuser and wife????

some of you need to get off your high horse aNd understand you weren't there!!!!

This thread is pathetically sad and just a micro picture of how we are blindly drawing lines in the sand without just cause, simply to assert our own moral stance.
Get over it. Kobes family did!!!!!

Louis CK is my allllll time favorite. I love him. Don’t love what he did, but his real life punishment has been surprising.

Nothing is alleged. Kobe admitted to all in a police report. Kobe signed the report. I don't get all this crap about Bryant not being convicted of rape and therefor he didn't do it. I mean, a person who can reason must accept a voluntary signed document proving rape.

Then there are the bruise marks around the victim's neck and Kobe's statement that he likes to choke his partners when he is having sex with them. Does this sound normal? And you call us sick?

I want to believe that Kobe changed, that he sought forgiveness and that he was working on his behavioral weaknesses. Being a Catholic he just might have been doing this. If he was attempting to reform and was seeking forgiveness I'd love to see it and then I could happily change my opinion of him.

Oh Lanny. That is pretty common place nowadays. The disntinction is that if it was not consensual, obviously bad. But if it is consensual, that happens all the time nowadays. Being choked or being the choker is a common kink.

There are even people out there who like consensual nonconsensual sex. Where they role play getting raped.

Not trying to downplay the Kobe incident. Just saying, it isn't sick.

I think Lanny's point was nothing more than the correlation between the fact that the woman had bruise marks around her neck and the fact that Kobe enjoys choking his sexual partners.

Men/women who may on occasion enjoy being choked during sex/orgasm don't necessarily want it every time they have sex.

Furthermore, the incident was in 2003 so it was not "nowadays".
