Yeah, the hope is that they're searching for another 1st to use in the Kennard trade and still have one. One first seems like not quite enough and two 1sts seems like too much. Although they got Oubre for a bargain and actually received a 1st for taking on Baynes so they're not necessarily needing to recoup similar value to what they gave up. But yeah, too good for us to actually happen.
It's really depressing seeing all these teams making moves and improve and y'all know Neil is not gonna do anything because he's to scared to make a risk
Not exactly free, we'd have to waive or find a place for Caleb/Mario/etc to open up a spot ourselves.
This contract extension stuff is fascinating. It's a new wrinkle in acquiring guys with expiring contracts that I hadn't considered. Miami is just about to get both Iggy and Gallo in the same manner. I'd be all for using our TPE and pick for a guy like Bertans and working out an extension for him prior to the trade so we don't lose him for nothing. Really didn't think this kinda future deal posturing was legal.
Every damn year you say the same crap. Remember last year and the result after yet another deadline with bad management?
This makes way too much sense to happen. (Only downside: Oubre really rubs me wrong. But so did Sheed in Washington, and he won me over, so...)
in OLSHEY we Trust! something’s coming.... a) a Whiteside extension? b) a CJ trade? c) an Ariza trade d) a Whiteside / CJ trade to Minny for Townsend and pick? I don’t see much happening outside of a, b, or c above
Sure! We are looking like the Oakland Raiders, giving old timers a second chance; Melo, Toliver, Ariza...why not Nene!?
Look at the return Miami got for all their bad contracts from 2016... and then realize Neil will have nothing to show for his when he doesn’t trade Whiteside and he walks at end of year
