So you think he would help us win a championship this year? If not why waste the money and he wouldn't be here next year anyway so it wouldn't help during Lillard's "prime".

Did I say he would lead us to a championship?

Why do you have a problem with giving this team the best possible chance? If Marvin gets us just ONE more home playoff game than without him then it offsets all the "wasted money." It doesn't matter though because he signed with Milwaukee.

And if we sign someone who fits well then we have the Full-MLE to work with in the off season to convince him to stay. Getting in the system and being around Dame could be a huge recruiting tool.

Did I say that's what you said? no!

I have no problem spending money and have never really cared what the team spends and they have spent plenty over the years. I also can understand why the team doesn't want to increase payroll this year. You are ranting and raving about Olshey and you have no clue where the mandate came from but it doesn't matter to you as all you want to do is scream and kick while yelling out profanities. Get a grip of your emotions dude as there are much more serious things in life. To equate not adding payroll to this year has nothing to do with Lillards prime either. Go ahead and rant and rave all you want.

If only you took as much time in actually understanding people's posts as you do trying to put people down and making shit personal.

I can vent however I want as long as it's within the rules. I didn't break any of them. This site allows cussing. You have no right to tell me how emotional I should or shouldn't be.

wrong. I have as much right to give my opinion as you do and if they aren't breaking any rules then tough. Obviously you have forgotten the several posts you have pushed on me trying to tell me how I should post and then whined to mods to get me excluded from "your" threads. Don't lecture me on crap you are just as guilty of.

The math and logic behind saving $2 million in payroll doesn't make sense to me.

If the mandate was to get out of the tax then Olshey failed. Why would he be mandated to only save a couple million? Just one home playoff game brings in just as much revenue as the amount of money saved on Thursday. So making a move to help them reach the playoffs guarantees two home games if they get in. Make a good move and it could be the difference between a 3rd home game in round one or an extra series even.

I would totally get it if adding a player right now pushed us into the luxury tax after getting out but that's not the case. There is no penalty other than cost to the owner for signing someone right now.

This is why I'm so upset. They're dipping their toes into two different directions instead of just picking one.

Keep Whiteside, fine, go for it this year. Sign a vet that can help provide a spark like Hood, Kanter, and Ariza have.

Save money, fine, but actually make it worth saving money! I know $2 million is a lot of money to just about everyone in the world outside of maybe a couple thousand people but in the context of a NBA franchise it really isn't significant savings when you factor in that they're still a tax team anyway. Getting out of the tax gets you paid at the end of the year too instead of having to be the one paying because the teams not in the tax split the tax money.

It's certainly Jody's right to value $2 million however she wants but I'm not buying that she only mandated to save that little of an amount. In the two big trades Olshey made this summer (Bazemore and Whiteside), he took on significantly more money than went out which is the difference right now between being a tax team and being clear of the tax line. So even if you want to spin it that Olshey had to cut salary because Jody demanded it, that was his own decisions that put him in that position.

The goal going into the season was having a healthy Collins and Hood for the season as well as eventually getting Nurkic back. Things changed. You want everything your way and are pissed because they don't do it your way. You need to get over it as it's not your call.

Congrats Cup, you win. I'm putting you on ignore. For some reason I thought maybe someday you could actually stop this shit you've been doing for 20 years now and wanted to still read your basketball posts but I give up.

I will no longer respond to any of your posts ever again.

whoopee. That doesn't bother me in the least. I lost respect for you long ago. Here's a suggestion before you go, learn to control your emotions without all the fuck this and fuck that. It makes your posts even harder to respect. :bgrin:

Fuck the Mavs, I've always liked MKG for his defense, if not for his inability to stay healthy or shoot AT ALL.
I wish the Hornets would go all-out and buy out Batum. Although if he then went to the Lakers it would break my heart.

Get the band back together! Now that Harkless and ET have been traded a 2nd time we can pick them up again.

The only chance of Portland using that roster spot is Jody realizing the backlash over saving a couple million isn't worth it or if there are (knock on wood please no) more injuries that force them to have enough active players on the roster.

    Also, out for season.

I like Dragan Bender. Got cut by Bucks. Sort of a budget Zach Collins.

No to Reggie Jackson. Doesnt fill a need, and a net negative player. We need less players who give up more points than they score with their inefficient chucking.

I've always thought Marvin Williams would end up in Portland for some reason and now he's available! Good thing there's no sense of urgency in Portland, otherwise I might be irritated that it's not even a possibility. What the shit.
