    Hello darkness, my old friend
You don't think the President's response to the virus is relevant to a thread about the virus? I'd disagree.

To me, this is akin to people who, after a gun death tragedy, say "This is not the time to talk about gun control policies, let's not politicize this." That's exactly the time to talk about the measures that might prevent such tragedies in the future. And talking about a Presidential administration's response to Covid-19, including how deficient it is if that's your take, is very on-point right now. If you happen to think Trump is doing a great job regarding Covid-19, this is also the time to say that and various posters have done that, too.

I hear you, but I hate politicizing and taking advantage of peoples deaths whether its a tornado, gun violence, or an airborne illness just so we can hop on our political agenda’s and claim everyone who opposes us wants people to die or “demonize” them.
So I guess, yeah its fine to talk about it and these type of instances create a good oppurtunity to have the conversation, but essentially this is what happens. Oh Trump said something dumb, anyone who voted for him or supports him must agree with all his dumbness and is also dumb, or hey you must not wash your hands! Thats not genuine conversation on how to better handle the situation, IMO.
I respect you and enjoy our conversations, but if I came at you like you support this guy you must be a nazi sympathizer who wants to genocide people, and you love rape, oh and you’re also dirty and dont wash your hands, do you really think a fruitful conversation starts that way?
And hey it’s totally fair if you arent looking for a conversation, you dont care about anyone else’s opinion and have made up your mind, I get it, but thats just venting, Im talking about if someone is actually looking for a conversation thats going to go somewhere.

Edit: Ill fully admit that Im not perfect here, I.come on strong on topics that I shouldnt, the right pulls the same thing with Bernie and Biden, etc and people they disagree with.

Sure, I agree that dialogue should be as civil and respectful as possible. I just don't agree with the notion that "politics" is some impure thing that needs to be kept out of "important things" like people suffering and/or dying. Politics is how we manage things at the government level and has a huge effect on a lot of these things. So, sure, there's no need to use a disaster to needle people about what terrible people they are, but believing and stating that current gun control policies would help prevent these gun tragedies or that the current administration is making things worse during a viral outbreak is perfectly fair and reasonable discussion, regardless of which side of the issues you come down on.

Fair enough, it really bothers me when people “act” excited when stuff goes down so they can get on their horse and Im not accusing any of that here I dont know peoples thoughts and emotions, but there are times I “wonder” about it.

If you go back in this thread, that is now 3 months old, you'll see about a month ago I had problems how possible coronavirus patients were being triaged. It was until just last week, patients presenting flu like symptoms who had been to China or knew someone who had been to China were being put in isolation and then tested. This is why we're seeing so many cases of unknown origins now.

CDC is blasted as it's revealed officials have tested just 1,583 people for coronavirus and are only now shipping kits to test another 75,000 patients
    • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has tested 1,583 people for the coronavirus since the first cases were identified in the US in January
    • That figure will increase as more tests are shipped nationwide to address demand, says Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Stephen Hahn
    • In the meantime, the CDC also has shipped enough kits to public health labs to test 75,000 patients

Yes, they are. The Washington Post tends to be left-leaning and the Washington Examiner tends to be right-leaning.

Now Trump says he's not concerned about coronavirus exposure. Didn't he cancel a meeting at the CDC A couple days ago because he was afraid someone might have the coronavirus?

He's worried about it for himself, he's not worried about it for anyone else.
