OT Dow Jones Down

Up 600 ain't saying much. Probably just a minor correction. Let's see what happens in the next 6 trading days.

 

I think the dow ended up being up 1100 but I may have read that wrong earlier.

 

I dunno, I recently woke up from a nap after my rough day surviving dialysis. My arm is all black and blue from where my nurse erred in inserting the large gauge needles.
It's nearly time to see how badly Biden beat a really decent Sanders in today's election.

 

...after losing nearly 6000 points recently, an uptick of 600 isn't exactly a recovery.

 

I can honestly say stock market changes have never affected me personally. At least not to a degree that is worth noting. High or low, I go to work and get paid.

 

Currently down over 1600 points (6.45% drop). Where is @BlazerWookee now?

 

You do know that this is all the Dems fault, right?

No, silly. This is absolutely and entirely in Donald Trump's lap. Italy is calling.

 

And China called back in December.

If Trump is going to claim universal responsibility/credit for a strong economy/market whether it's really his doing or not, he must conversely also accept responsibility/blame when it goes south.

..Sorry, can't have it both ways.

 

There are a few things one needs to look at:

1. Stock market
2. Crypto
3. Metals
4. Jobs
5. Housing
6. Banking sector

There will likely be some sort of stimulus, whether it be consumer protection for sick leave, mortgage/rent relief, quantitative easing, etc. I'm guessing its going to be a round of QE again followed by some bailouts for certain sectors (airline, cruise, banks). Once again the average american is going to get fucked!

 

If housing tanks, perhaps it may be a good time to buy something. Rates are low and prices may fall, people may panic sell. Who knows.

I'm just talking out of my ass but I feel that housing will be the last to go this time. Metals will maintain or rise. Crypto will tank with the market. Banking and jobs will be ok for a while.

 

I'm pretty much in line with this line of thought. Well, I think Banking/Jobs will be affected.

Interest rates will go lower or even negative, we'll see whats up.

 

Corona is a bigger threat to Trumps presidency than Biden or Sanders, he will pull all the strings but it probably won't be enough. He has had an easy run so far. This whole issue will also highlight our medical and paid time off problems in the country.

 

I think he will go overboard soon with the reaction and policies in place to "stop" the coronavirus and people will claim he's being a dictator.
