I rarely ever talk politics but seriously fuck politics and anyone who supports these ass clowns.

Mother fuckers get paid for life with sweet pensions and healthcare while the people they are supposed to serve have to suffer. As if that's not good enough for them they also have to fuck us over with downplaying a viral threat that could cripple the country.

The best candidates these stupid fucking political parties can come up with for president are Joe Biden and Donald Trump?

Wanna make America great again? Force all these fuck faces to live like most of America.

    1) Make all of these political positions (senators, congress, president, etc.) federal minimum wage jobs.

    2) Retirement benefits are deducted from paychecks.

    3) Healthcare has to be paid out of pocket.

    4) Illegal to own personal stock or take money from any corporations while in office.

    5) Anyone found guilty of taking a bribe or impermissible benefits gets mandatory life in prison.

I guarantee you America would be well on their way to being fixed in about a month if this happened because shit would get done to improve every American's situation so they wouldn't have to live like that. Instead we have people who's first reaction is to literally make money off of a pandemic instead of worrying about how to prevent it.

I agree with most of your post but they should def earn more than the federal min wage for the stress and work hours they put in

but overall I agree with your message

I get it's drastic but why? Their job is literally supposed to serve the best interest of the American people not to profit.

My whole point is that if they had to live like that they'd fix all these broken things almost immediately so no one would have to.

A politician with a massive paycheck and full benefits practically loses all perspective to do what's right for the majority of the people.

Things are going so bad, why don't we let the gov. take full control over the entire health care system. And let them control all of the health care money.

Oh, wait, the gov. is the problem.

    Welcome.

We usually have crackers and a assortment of cheeses at our meetings but with social gatherings being no more than 10 people and social distancing, we've had to postpone indefinitely.

One requirement; You must end every post with #fuckpolitics. Lower or upper case is acceptable.

    Once again welcome!

@hoopsjock Did you shut the store down? How are you doing? Alisha runs the Kiwanis thrift store in Canby and she is contemplating shutting down, but hasn't yet.

I haven't shut down completely. I reduced hours starting Saturday but sales are down about 80% the last week or so. I have 7 part time employees and all but one wants to continue working. Unfortunately I'm going to have to start cutting everyone's hours pretty drastically. Every day I stress the risks of working during this pandemic and make sure they know I'm totally fine with anyone who doesn't want to come in.

Honestly, I find myself actually hoping for a shelter in place ordinance from the government. At least then there would likely be assistance programs for businesses like mine and your wife's and I wouldn't have to decide myself if I'm doing something wrong by staying open.

It's brutal man, 8 years of working my ass off to build a nice little business and it could all be undone by a virus in a matter of weeks.

Except for no. 4, I have to disagree. Most of those items would guarantee that we only have independently wealthy people running for national office. No. 5 means that any bribe no matter how small would incur the same sentence as the most egregious bribery crime.
I understand and share your frustrations but I think we need to rethink this whole thing.
Healthcare should be as convenient for people as public transportation. The poor and the lower income but not poor by definition people should have health care available at an affordable cost. I propose allowing those under the age of 18 or still in high school free health czre. This would be available to all regardless in family income due to the stigma of only allowing the poor such benefits.
I guess you could make your Congressional pay tied to your income level but then the independently wealthy would have no incentive to vote for a pay raise with the cost of living increase.
I favor allowing the voters to decide if you're earning your paycheck or not.

I feel for you bro, being a business owner. Alisha is just a manager, though she still has the power to shut iot down or not. She is in the same boat with sales and trying to keep employees on the books but not having sales to account for that overhead now.

Have you heard about how the filing is going though? I know one person who has been trying to file for two days now with no luck.

I heard someone say to go in person to a Work Source location but that seems risky and I would call first.

Personally I would set an alarm for 3am and try to file then online.
