Fucking prove one thing I said wrong!!!

    You can’t.

Sorry your political party of choice is deeming itself completely useless in a time of need. And sorry you can’t summon a factual response or a legitimate defense for them.

    - every republican voted against the emergency paid leave last week
    - Republicans wanted a comfy slush fund of $500b to dole out to whoever they wanted without disclosing who got it for six months
    - he got 47 votes for it - not enough even with the democrat filibuster
    - refusing additional money for hospitals
    - Corp who get bailout can still lay-off workers
    - no expanded unemployment benefits

sweet bill I’m shocked democrats didn’t jump all over it. Head. Out.

Your favorite party is stopping money from getting into people’s hands immediately. Period. And on top of that, they don’t have an alternative.

All your bullet points are semantics and not worthy of punishing people in need. They are nitpicky excuses for a Democratic Party that is playing games without the public in mind. They, like you, are more interested in getting their Trump jabs in than actually addressing a major problem. They’d rather see Trumps approval numbers drop than the unemployment, foreclosure and homelessness numbers.

Eh... im a republican but i dont want the money just tossed out there willy nilly. Lets be smart about it. There must be accountability measures put in place to ensure the money goes to where it should.
Who determines who is in need?
Is the laid off 22 year old minimum wage burger flipper who lives in his wealthy parents basement more in need than the 35 yr old single mother of two who makes 70k but is also laid off?

to just toss money blindly and immediately would be foolish.

Im... uncomfortable with the lets throw money at people approach but this is a very drastic, traumatic time for people, a lot of people suddenly by no fault of their own see themselves unemployed, their businesses ravaged. They should turn this into two bills. One bill you help the individuals, the families, the small business’, no sneaking other crap into it, nothing else. The other one is bigger its big businesses’, its corporate crap, thats a bigger problem that they really need to get right and vet out.

Do the first bill FIRST, and quickly and oh no if you send someone 1000 dollars and they dont need it, who really cares if it means hundreds of families can afford food and shelter in the immediate future.

    LOL.

Name one 22 year old minimum wage burger flipper who lives with his wealthy parents.

There is no such animal in America.

If there were, it would take years to find out who they were.

Every second the Dems stall, the damage to our country's financial existence quadruples, as does the spread of the virus.

Soon it will be named the Democratic Party Virus, for eternity.

How long is it going to take to dick around with this alternative option, though? Are people going to be ensured they won’t be foreclosed on or evicted in the meantime? This is a pretty pressing issue for a whole lot of people. Just make it universal for the ease of implementation and mail the damn checks already. The government pretending it doesn’t have the money is asinine when corporations are being bailed out.

Maybe the republicans should propose a clean bill just for sending money to individuals, with no secret bailouts for corporations or any of the other crap in the Senate bill. I'm pretty sure the Democrats would vote for that in an instant.

Sounds great honestly. I don’t know why Democrats would vote for it though, considering their big idea is “tax credits”.

    No, they wouldn't.

And there are no secrets in bills passed by Congress, it's impossible for obvious reasons.

Also, refusing to help the largest employers, producers and innovators that drive our economy would quickly bankrupt every American worker and rob them of their homes and retirement funds, slash future tax revenues to zero, and cause the total collapse of our country as we know it.

The Democrat-controlled House already wrote and passed 2 worthless bills that did absolutely nothing for Americans.

They had 2 chances to help Americans, and have doubled-down on horrifically hurting them instead.

Hard to imagine such evil monsters, but the proof is in the Congressional Record for eternity.

    Yes, they would.

    See what I did there?

I was using shorthand, since I figured people had heard about it already. In longer form (I'm sure you already know this) the proposal was that Treasury could bail out companies and not reveal who was bailed out for 6 months.

Personally, I'm not against bailing out certain corporations. Which ones, and how it gets done, is vitally important, though.

As an aside, it's interesting to see Republicans who thought stimulus spending and corporate bailouts were the work of the devil in 2009/2010 are now eager to spend $2T, $3T, maybe more! on exactly those things. It almost seems as if they are some sort of hypocrites.

So you think Americans have no use for coronavirus testing, Medicaid, SNAP, paid sick leave, and unemployment benefits?

My ex roommate who flipped burgers in Bend at a golf course where he learned to play golf.
He retired at an early age quite wealthy. Last I heard he was living in a very wealthy part of Rock Creek.

I mean, we can take a couple fucking hours to vet a 2 Trillion dollar giveaway, right? The GOP is trying to sneak hundreds of billions out the back door. This needs to be a compromise, the entire country needs help. If you are so broke that you can’t wait 24 hours for this check, I dont know what to say.
